Peaceful site in a beautiful area

We stayed 3 nights at the end of March 2014 and had a lovely weekend and the weather was beautiful which was a bonus.  Ann, the site owner, was very welcoming and took time to chat to us over the weekend, even when she had family, plus grandchildren, over for Mother's Day.  There were new born lambs in the field in front of the site.  The pitches are very generous with fresh water and electric hook-up on each pitch.  The Ribble Valley was a real surprise and reminded us of the Yorkshire Dales (we are from Yorkshire).  There are some stunning villages in the vicinity with lovely pubs and eating places. We ate at the Assheton Arms in Downham which has fabulous seafood dishes. Another lovely trip is over the Forest of Bowland to Morecambe where we had lunch at The Midland Hotel.  You can walk for miles along the sea front and no noisy amusement arcades.  So, all in all, a great site tucked away and peaceful with easy access to beautiful places. (Don't forget to visit the Sausage Shop in Clitheroe - sausages in every flavour).
