First visit to Lancashire
Just returned from an eleven day stay at Drake House, after a very relaxing break surrounded by beautiful countryside. The site is run by Ann, who is very friendly, fun, welcoming and helpful. She even knew where to source a replacement for a failed bolt from our folding step within a couple of miles!
The site itself is very good, with fully serviced pitches, hardstandings, and a simple but very clean toilet and shower block. The site also has views of Pendle Hill. There are excellent pubs all around, serving real ales and delicious locally sourced food.
The Forest of Bowland is on the site's doorstep, and the Yorkshire Dales are within very easy reach. If the scenery palls and you fancy some candyfloss it is not far to Morecambe!
All in all, we can thoroughly recommend this site to anyone seeking peace and quiet in a scenic location, but with excellent eating places nearby.
