Ease of arrival/welcome

Not really a CL

My main gripe with this site, is it is not really a CL.  Upon arrival the site manager told us that the site is actually licensed for 10 units, and that they were negotiating with the CC because of this fact.  So do not expect to see a nice secluded 5 van site. The welcome from the site owners was good, and the site itself is nicely laid out, lots of room with some pitches on hard standing.   The site owners seem to be very rule conscious wrt to dogs.   I saw one woman brushing her dog, get told off for not having it on a lead - she was brushing it, and it wasn't roaming about - I appreciate the rules for dogs on leads but this was a bit over the top in my opinion. The site itself is kept in good order, there is a toilet and shower (50p for more than enough time to shower), the only issue is that with 1 shower and 1 toilet (shared gender) for 10 vans then this is not really enough, plenty for 5 not so for 10.  That said the pitch fees are very reasonable so I guess you have to take this into account. There are no dog walking facilities on site,  there is however some grass outside the entrance which can be used.  Turn left out the site, then immediately left again and you walk down to the canal path, where dogs can be exercised.   The path leads straight to Lincoln centre which is about 5 miles away, the path is paved and level so is easy walking/cycling.  It took us about 2 hours to walk into lincoln. We were informed by the site managers, that if you want to go to/from lincoln and there is more than 2 of you its actually cheaper to take a taxi than the bus.   We walked to lincoln and caught a taxi back and it cost about £7.   The beauty was that most taxis in lincoln seem to allow dogs.  So a 5 mile walk into the town and a taxi back is a great way to spend a day! We enjoyed our stay here, the reason I have marked it down though is because of the large number of vans, the lack of facilities to cope with that number, and the over over strict rule enforcement.
