All this lovely sunshine makes us think of our holiday on our favourite site Deodara in Great Yarmouth. We visit this site as often as we can-usually 3 times a year. The site always looks clean, tidy and well cared for, with the grass all freshly mown. All of this is down to Tim, Damien and Danielle. NOTHING is too much trouble for them. If there is anything we need - we can borrow it for the asking. They are always keen to lend a hand if needed. Whenever we arrive they make sure there is money on the electric meter, so all we have to do is hook up and enjoy a lovely cuppa. There is only one drawback, because this site is becoming more popular - WE HAVE TO REMEMBER TO BOOK EARLIER!!
this is a gem of a site with plenty of space, fishing just outside your door, plenty of wildlife and a good dog walk, owners were really helpful and could not do enough to make our stay welcome.it is also central to most holiday hot spots but really quiet, the best of both really,we will certainly be returning soon
Firstly do make sure you follow the directions in the Club handbook and don't trust the sat Nav!! Also make sure you keep your eyes peeled as signage for both Willoways and Deodara can easily be missed.
If you are expecting to find a bar on site or find the site in the grounds of a public house as indicated in site facilities I have to report that this is not the case. However, this does not detract from the site as there are a couple of local pubs within a short drive or walking distance if you feel energetic.
The welcome we received was great, everything explained, electric meter topped up and a map for the immediate locality provided. Tim very helpful and full of local knowledge and Norfolk wit.
The site is plenty big enough to provide ample space between vans. The lakes provide a convenient dog walk and a great opportunity for spotting the wildlife. We immediately spotted heron, kingfishers and monkjack to name a few.
Would certainly not hesitate to recommend and hope to return in the future.
Great time had by all, and at only £9 per night excellent value for money.
We had an excellent welcome from Tim explaining everything including a detailed map.
We have stayed on sites costing far more without the space and cleanliness.
Great Yarmouth and Gorleston on sea only a 5 min drive and the Norfolk Broads very handy for a pleasant walk or hire a boat for a couple of hours or for the day. Good fishing available within 2 ponds adjacent to the site and nature in abundance with Deer close by.
This site is a must visit in our eyes and we will certainly be returning.
This CL is a gem, especially for appreciators of nature. We had Muntjack dear wandering outside during breakfast (New Year 2014)! I would definitely want to come back later in the year - Spring might be best because apparently Kingfisher are abundant then. Some of the roads are quite narrow around Burgh Castle, but we expected that and a little caution in getting here yields its rewards. A very warm welcome from Mr Flaxman and we hope to remake his acquaintance again soon. Combi lock on the gate too so felt secure. The down side is that it takes a little longer to get on and off site, but it's a small price to pay. Oh, and some levelling is required on most pitches, but there is loads of space to spread out in. All in all, a great CL.
Stayed here for a week again, 4th visit had a great time , weather was great ,company great owner Tim a pleasure to meet and very helpfull , altogether we had a fantastic time and we will be back
A nice quite site with great walking areas around the lakes and along the river. Tim, the owner, is more than helpful and the amenities are clean and tidy and up to the standard you would expect on a CL site. I will certainly go back again.
Lovely site and well looked after. The owner is pleasant and friendly good location for Great Yarmouth and the Broads.
Lots of wildlife to see on the site.
This CL site is a great site if you just won,t peace and quite this is one to try
Mr Flaxman is such a lovely bloke and very helpful and makes your stay wonderful .
.
This site is in Burgh Castle (about 15 mins drive from the centre of Great Yarmouth). It's a nice basic grass site with lakes and streams nearby (lakes are stocked with fish). There's plenty of wildlife (we saw some Muntjac from a distance). Site has 16amp hookups as well as the usual CL facilities. This site is adults only (dogs allowed) and there is another site next door (part of the same farm) that allows children.
