Winter break in the south
We wanted to get away for a last minute end of season break as the weather was staying so mild, 2 places we wanted to visit were Marwell Zoo and the Historic Docks at Portsmouth, search for a CL and up came Dell Croft, a quick phone call to the owner and we were booked in.
On arrival the hospitality was second to none and it was dark and late when we arrived.
Morning came and Diana the lady owner collected our 6 yr old from the van and took him off to help collect eggs from her chickens, something a townie don't get to do, he was over the moon, the site was friendly very clean very quiet and within easy reach of the South Coast attractions, we will revisit as the weekend stay can't be faulted.
One word of caution if you have a large van the lanes to the site are narrow and the entrance to the site is quite tight, we have a 510/4 and it went in no trouble but coming out we had to excercise care.
Worth A Visit
Found the site with ease, narrow lane, but plenty of passing places,no problem entering site if you take it wide and carefully.Lovely welcome to us and our friends from Mrs Carter, plenty of room & beautiful scenery. Two pubs at the end of the lane(1 a family pub serving 2-4-£10 meals.) Definitely on our list of sites to return to.We won't forget Diana & her chickens....and she certainly won't forget us.
Thank you.

I love this site. It is so peaceful and quiet. The potatoes from the garden were lovely as was the welcome when I got there. I have a Kon Tiki 4 berth and did not have any problem with access. Mrs Carter went out of her way to help me and I am very grateful. I will return next week as there are so many things to see and do in the area, Winchester is a fantastic place to visit.

It was OK
We had trouble finding the CL, which was our own fault. Quite tight access if you have a big van, like us. I wouldn't even attempt it with a twin axle. Slightly sloping and a bit muddy, but Mrs Carter very welcoming and relaxed about her grass getting churned up! Not a huge CL, so it would be interesting to see how close the vans were when the site is full.
