As first time visitors to a CL site Sep 24 we were over the moon, Parkhouse was so clean, quiet and relaxing. A previous review mentioned the space, I found this to be more than enough the pitch was easily accessible with a straight forward drive onto a flat pitch.
Easy walk into town, with supermarkets nearby. The view from the site would have been spectacular looking over Crieff and the surrounding countryside if the weather had been clearer during our visit. There are a number of fantastic walks around whether hills, countryside or river walks.
Jackie came and introduced herself and was very friendly and knowledgeable!
Would I go back, without a thought and hopefully soon!
Pretty and peaceful
Stayed here for a couple days over the New Year period and loved it. The hardstanding pitches were perfect and all the facilities were clean and tidy!
We met Jackie, who was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed!
The Lady Mary's walk was lovely too and the nights were peaceful.
Top rate site
Stayed overnight at this CL site again. Owners always friendly and accommodating.
As usual we found it to be very clean and well run, using the site as a base for our hill walking, allowing us to reach outlying hills we cannot do in a day. Ideal site for other hill walkers to use.
This CL site is certainly on our list of places to stay.
Beautifully located CL Site
Have stayed at the Parkhouse CL Site on several occasions and have always thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The owners Jackie & Stuart have always made us so welcome and advised us of the scenic walks available and eateries/shops in nearby Crieff which is only a 15 minute walk away.
The site itself is very organised and well kept. Jackie always pops up to check that everything is in order and on occasion has given us fresh eggs from the farm!
My husband enjoys fishing for salmon and sea trout in the nearby River Earn which is a big bonus as he is fishing mad!
We will definitely be heading back to this lovely well run CL site again this year.
Needs a little TLC
Stayed here for 3 nights in June. We chose it as Crieff was a good place to meet up with relatives who live in the area. It is easy to find on the edge of the town which is a 20 minute walk away (uphill to James Square). Although the photographs clearly show a predominantly hardstanding surface, like the previous reviewer we were still surprised just how little grass there was between the pitches and how bumpy the surface was. As mentioned, there is a new large housing estate being built directly behind the site but, to be fair, it wasn't too noisy when we were there. Jackie was away so we didn't meet her but she left a message on my phone checking we were ok and how to pay her. The waste facilities are clean but there is no information about the area other than a list of phone numbers pinned to the EHU point. All in all, it is difficult to pinpoint why we did not enjoy our stay at this cl compared to others on our trip other than it just seems a little tired.
More cramped than expected
Easy to find and pitch up. After a grass CL it initially seemed very hard-core! More grass would have been nicer as our dogs and ourselves like to sit out on some when the weather is as nice as it was.
We did feel a bit cramped and close to the caravan in pitch 6 and doubt there was much more than 2m between us. Had we moved over we would have felt too close to our lovely neighbours in pitch 4.
There is a new housing estate directly behind the site we weren't aware of, but despite that it was a very quiet spot.
The walks around were excellent and shops not far away and the surrounding area is beautiful. We drove around Loch Earn and went to a lovely hotel restaurant in Comrie twice!
Perfect stay at Crieff
This is a first-rate site. Very clean, tidy and well organised with beautiful views west to the hills and also a pretty view of the town of Crieff. To the other side is a lovely outlook onto an avenue of mature trees above the river and sheltering the lane that leads in. The site is on the edge of the town, so right by it, but far enough away to feel out in the country. Shops, restaurants etc are a 5-10 minute walk away. Buses south pass the main road at the end of the lane to Stirling and to Perth from the town centre, so if you don't have a car it's quite easy to travel out a little. Beautiful walks both easy and more strenuous are nearby, many in walking distance to get started so vehicle not required. Great choice of eating places and grocery shopping in the town. Jackie and Stuart are great hosts, warm, very friendly and informative - readily available and totally helpful when needed but leaving you alone otherwise. Very highly recommended, whether for a stop-off or longer stay.
Excellent CL - will be back for sure.
Booked here for 6 nights over Christmas 2022, in the end stayed for 7. Lovely quiet, friendly site, with beautiful views over town and country. Huge pull-thru hardstanding pitches with power and water, very level hard surfaces which didn't stick to my boots, but which would still easily accept rock pegs for the awning. Easy access to waste facilities and all nice and clean and tidy.
Easy stroll into Crieff and all its attractions.
I wish all CLs were this good!
Much better than the big commercial site across the road/river!
Marvellous well kept CL
We arrived at this CL for 3 nights and chose our pitch, the pitches are very large, well separated gravel hardstanding with ehu and fresh water tap on every pitch, there was a notice with contact no for Jackie and bank details for BAC payment, £20 a night. I called to let her know we had arrived. There are excellent views from the site of Crieff and the surrounding mountains. At the end of the site is a chemical disposal and grey waste emptying point. Also rubbish and recycling bins. Jackie popped over to welcome us and see that we were getting on fine. It is about 15 minutes walk to the centre of Crieff with plenty of shops and Cafes. ALDI is nearby for groceries. There are great longer walks from the site. Highly recommended site. We would certainly return.
Fantastic 4 night stay.
A lovely friendly and attractive site with large pitches with all facilities close by.. Short walk into town centre with loads of great walks within easy reach. Jackie, one of the owners, came across to introduce herself and it is obvious that both Jackie and Stuart are prepared to go that extra mile to make your stay a great one. This was our first stay here but can’t wait to stay again. Thank you!
