Brilliant

This was our third visit and it has only improved. The grass is well kept with no cuttings to walk into the van. The welcome as always is cheerful and helpful, being shown to your pitch is always good. The toilets are adequate and very clean. The fishing in Pauls pond is very good and the quality of the fish is second to none. Carp, Rudd, Chubb, Barble and Tench good size fish and for a small pond, amazing, he was also very helpful regarding method and equipment. Alford is good for a visit as is Sutton. Wild Life on the dunes is good and of course Gibraltar Point. We will be looking to go again Asap. Well done Paul and Mandy.

Update to last review

I’ve reviewed this site before and having just stayed there yet again I’m happy to report that the process of improvement continues. This year Paul had installed gravelled track-ways into the CL field which will help to keep the ground by the gate in good condition, not that we have experienced problems with that on any of the many previous visits. Paul had just cut the grass prior to our arrival and full marks must be given to the efficacy of the mower he uses in removing the cuttings as we had no grass whatsoever get walked into the caravan. I feel that in order to put the record straight, the road outside the site, like at so many other CL’s does not have a footpath, having said that it is possible to walk in the verge for about 150metres until you reach a proper footway. Farmer Browns Ice Cream outlet about ½ mile North from the site is well worth visiting. I look forward to visiting again later in the year.

let down

I arrived to a warm welcome. And was told I had to place my caravan in exactly THAT SPOT. I was told that a few house rules must apply. I was told not to put a ground sheet down at all and was told to take my own doggy dodo to a bin down the road, with no path to walk down. I was asked for my money five minutes after arrival. The toilet towel was only changed once in over a week. The site smelt of dog mess. A little bit of disinfectant that would not harm the grass would have been helpful and done by the owner. I came home wishing I had never been. Most of the other people onsite said " too many rules". As a member I would expect we already know rules.

our dog

A good site but no where to walk our dog from this site as the road outside was the A52 which is very busy even on a early Sunday morning. The washroom is very narrow, but good points is there is soap and towel and toilet paper all supplied by owners.

We started our six week east coast touring holiday here, and what a great start, coffee on arrival and made very welcome, A lovely well kept site with plenty of info leaflets, Paul and mandy also very friendly and helpful, free beach parking a real added bonus. And only a few mins away. Cannot fault this cl.

Lovely site, lovely owners

Recently returned from a week-long stay here...our first visit but definitely not our last. Paul came straight out to meet us on arrival and offered us a cuppa. What a pleasant change from some other CLs we’ve visited where we’ve not seen the owners at all. The site is pretty level, well-kept, clean and attractive with a large pond. Both Paul & Mandy are very friendly and helpful, always happy to stop and chat or have a laugh. Local attractions include the working windmill at Alford, the thatched church at Markby, Farmer Brown’s farm shop / ice cream parlour just down the road (some unusual flavours such as Champagne, Jaffa Cake, Tutti Frutti) and, slightly further away, the beautiful nature reserve at Gibraltar Point. Good walks available along the nearby beach, just 2 miles away, where parking right on the beach front is free. Everyday shopping items are easily obtained at the local garage shop in Huttoft, where a daily newspaper can also be ordered. Paul & Mandy have also provided details of the nearest supermarkets, take-aways, fish&chips etc. Take their advice….they’re not wrong! All-told, a great site with lovely owners who we look forward to meeting again.

An amazing place just off the main road but lovely and peaceful

This was the 1st CL we had ever visited and we were so impressed with the whole set up that we have been back time and again. Paul and Mandy made us most welcome on the 1st visit and the extremely welcome cup of tea makes all the difference after a "long" 2 hour drive from the southern extremity of Lincolnshire. Nothing has changed in that respect ever since. The facilities have been improved every year since we began staying at this site and it is credit to the owners how much work they have put in to making this the place it is now. There are some pleasant circular walks available which use generally quiet roads and we use these to walk our dog when staying at this location. Sutton on Sea can provide most everything you may need and its only a short drive North from the site. I would recommend this site to anyone.
