Tranquil place

A beautiful location. A great setting within the Hall’s walled garden. A level site with electric and water to each pitch. The pitches are separated by tall hedges, giving you lots of privacy and room to sit outside in your own space. The grass is cut and collected a couple of times a week. There is a wild area in the centre of the site attracting lots of birds. Didn’t use the shower but the loos were lovely and clean, couple of minutes walk from the pitch. You have to drive to either Wigton or Carlisle for shops. We chose Carlisle as it had more choice. However, there is a farm shop on the Carlisle road, which had a good range of food stuffs. Good road and rail access to areas, we enjoyed visits to the northern lakes and had a great day on the Ravenglass railway. Hadrian’s wall Birdoswold Fort was interesting. The best day out was to the “Dirty Porridge “ museum near Annan, really great place, who knew a nine mile long factory was built there, well worth a visit. Will definitely return for another holiday .
