Very quiet, nice and neat site

We used the Corner Cottage site as a one night stopover on our way back to Scotland. Directions for arrival were sent in advance so arrival was contactless and we easily found our designated pitch and parked ourselves. Flat site. It is very quiet. No showers or toilets but we are self contained in the caravan so didn't matter to us. Water was the main issue, as we didn't have the barrel pulling handle with us for some reason. We did have 3 lengths of expandable water hose but even they didn't get our barrel filled very near the caravan but close enough to push the barrel on the flat ground straight to the caravan. The honesty hut with the varied stock on display was interesting. We didn't need anything, so didn't take/buy anything. If passing through we would certainly use the site again.

Immaculate

We've just spent four nights in our motorhome at this super immaculate site. The site is amazingly quiet with good walks and excellent roads for cycling. We had a lovely meal at the Lord Nelson pub to which we biked. We had a Chinese takeaway delivered. We tried to have a meal at the Royal Oak in Collingham (within walking distance) but they were fully booked (for a vegan night!) so bought some burgers from the Collingham butcher to barbecue. The meat was so good we bought more to bring home. All in all, we would thoroughly recommend this site and would like to visit again.

A Charming Peaceful CL

A charming and peaceful CL set in beautiful relaxing surroundings. Booking was quick and easy on their own website which resulted in arrival information being sent to you straight away with all pitching and facility requirements included which meant upon your arrival you can just crack on getting yourself set up without needing to check in, something I personally like. I only saw the owners from a distance whilst they tended to their gardening but had contact details should I have needed them and felt sure any troubles I had would have been dealt with promptly due to the efficient manner in which their site seems to run. The water point and waste emptying are a short walk from the pitches, as is the little honesty and information shed that was well stocked with bits and bobs. You can walk many footpaths and road routes from the site, I had walks to Collingham, Swinderby, North and South Scarle during my short visit, the closest village of Besthorpe is only about 10-15 minutes walk away, but it's pub is closed Monday and Tuesday. Corner Cottage is a lovely site and highly recommended. "Improvements" to the site could include WiFi to be available (mobile data and tv signal were good however) and a shower and toilet is always great to allow longer stays, but I am really scratching my head trying to think something up as the site is perfect as it is and I will certainly be returning in future

Corner cottage

The owners sent a helpful email on how to park the van. Empty toilet and fill water about 100yards if you have a problem put in car. We have been here 7 nights grass cut twice all picked up . Gardens very tidy and well maintained. Ideal for dog walking : out of site turn left up road first right to footpath sign 3 right turns back to site ideal for morning or evening walk. Quiet and peaceful site. Ideal candidate for cl of the year.

Perfect

We have just returned from a 5 nights stay here, a lovely peaceful and immaculately kept site. Great information shed, with discount offers for local pubs, freshly baked cakes, essential supplies and amazingly cooked breakfast available if ordered in advance. We had a problem with our car the morning we were due to leave, the owner was extremely kind and helpful ensuring we could stay as long as we needed to get car repaired. We will definitely stay here again.

Peaceful retreat

We booked this site for 3 nights, it was everything we wished for. The site is beautifully kept, neat and tidy and very peaceful. Good location with easy access to the site and services. Both TV & Internet signals good. We will happily return in the future.

Just what we needed

We needed somewhere near Newark for a couple of nights and this site fitted the bill. Very clean and picturesque and really quiet. There was a very handy little shop with an honesty box, which we liked although didn't have occasion to use it. Unfortunately, its quite a long walk to Collingham and the nearest pub was shut until midweek. We did walk into Collingham and it was a beautiful cross country and flat walk and no problem letting the dog off the lead. Basically, we enjoyed our stay overall.. We weren't keen on paying upfront but, as all was to plan, it didn't matter in our case. Also the website says £18 p/n but we had to pay £20. We never saw the owners at all which we don't mind, but some people, I know, are funny about that.

Lovely Peaceful Site

The site is very well laid out and level. It is very peaceful with open countryside all around. The site owners, Andy and Maggie are really friendly and helpful. We've stayed twice now and look forward to more visits next year.

Excellent

Lovely little site. Flat so easy to pitch. plenty of space between pitches, awning-caravan-car all side by side. Reception hut that also has a few products to purchase. just off a country lane but it's not busy so no real noise. Well lit area's for dark nights, the water, recycling, elsan points all have small flood light style lights above them but they don't shine into your van. Higly recommended friendly site with plenty of wildlife to hear.

Peace and quiet

Another quiet and peaceful visit to this easily accessible CL, yet not too far away from anywhere. It is only a short drive to Newark - a lovely market town with plenty of individual shops, or Lincoln - the county’s capital, with its castle, cathedral, high street stores and Victorian prison. Maggie and Andrew keep a very well tended site. We had very high winds and heavy rain overnight but the ground next morning was well drained with no mud or puddles to negotiate. We don’t travel far to this site but is one we will visit again.
