We just spent 5 lovely days at this superb site, located in the village of Alkborough, nice and quiet with plenty of walks locally. Mr & Mrs Ogg were very friendly and made sure we were ok. The Paddock Tearoom food is excellent just a pity it's only open Thurs to Sun. This is definitely on our regular return sites list
Yet another
lovely peaceful weekend at this terrific site. This is becoming a regular haunt for us. We just can't enough of the gorgeous scones in the Paddocks tea room.

What a unexpected gem
As Mr and Mrs Ogg were shopping there was no-one around when we got there, but we located the hard standings and hoped it didn't matter where we chose. (It didn't). Mr Ogg very pleasant and welcoming when we met him that evening. Lovely private quiet location. Alkborough is a pretty well kept village with lots of lovely walks. Great for plant/tree/butterfly and bird watching. Quite a lot of local history to find out too. The tea room on the site is astoundingly popular and quite rightly so. Altogether a great weekend and we will definitely return
Lovely and Peaceful
What a lovely little site. Beautifully situated. A warm welcome on our arrival. It was if you had pitched up in someone's well tended back garden. We stayed two nights and had breakfast(beautiful) in the Paddocks Tea Room. The owners and staff we most helpful. Well worth a visit and we will most certainly be going back again.

A lovely find
Having read all the reviews we thought this was worth a try. We weren't dissapointed. There is little to add except that it isn't a place to take the kids. We love walking and taking in the wild life so we found lots to do and didn't move the car again till we left. Its a bird watcher's ideal site with lots of hides and viewing areas across the Alkborough flats and its many many birds feeding on the mud flats so don't forget to take the camera and binoculars. The welcome was warm and the owner came to say goodbye as we were leaving. We are sure to go back and have another the 'farmers breakfast' in the on site tea room.

What more can I say
The above reviews probably say it all, but this s a real gem and well worth a visit.
Perfect and Peaceful
We cannot add more to the excellent review by terrylynnandflynn but can confirm that the welcome was great, the site is immaculate and the coffee shop (particularly the delicious cakes) is a delight. We too will return.
Idyllic Retreat
Have visited this site on numerous occasions and just had another 3 days at this wonderful CL made all the better by the excellent weather.
Mix of hardstandings and grass all with electric. Conveniently placed water tap with the waste and chemical disposal screened by flowering shrubs. There are also recycling bins which are emptied daily. The very well kept paddock is regularly mowed and is planted with fruit trees and looks across the field grazed by the beautiful Limousin cattle bred by the owner. Dogs are very welcome but as this is a working farm they need to be under control at all times. The whole area is great for dog walking.
There is a very popular tea room at the farm which is open daily.
There are numerous walks directly from the site and just about 100 metres or so from the farm entrance is Julian's Bower - an ancient turf maze. From here you can look across the River Trent to Yorkshire. On a very clear day you can even see York Minster! The susets viewed from here are a must!
If birdwatching is your thing you can walk down onto Alkborough Flats where there are several bird hides.
There are no shops in the village, the nearest is about 3 miles away in Burton where there is also a pub, coffee shop and take away. You can walk to Burton from the site along a lovely footpath with views across the River Trent. You can also do a nice circular walk to Whitton in the other direction, about 6 miles in total.
Normanby Hall is a short drive of about 4 miles.
This is a wonderful relaxing site where you can do as much or as little as you like. Very friendly and welcoming owners and at £10 per night with electric is extremely good value for money. Will return many more times.
