wonderful site

we have been visitors to this cl for a number of years and find it upsetting that it is so underused. It is easy to get to and effectively fully serviced. Electric points are near and water tap at each pitch. Slightly sloping as on the southern side of wenlock edge but easy to level as plenty of room to pitch facing any way. Also probably the best draining site in shropshire. Nice views, usually sheep to watch in the next field and buzzards soaring overhead. Plenty to do in the area with nation trust and english heritage properties near. Also cosford air museum, severn valley railway and the ironbridge world heritage site all near. If you are looking to visit a peaceful site where you can sit and watch the world go by and be surrounded by an amazing set of places to visit pitch up at the coates farm. you definitely won't regret it. A great stay

Our first visit to this site, and we would definitely return if we were in the area again. Lovely spacious pitches, with water at each pitch which is an added bonus! The owners were very welcoming, and kindly allowed me to access the footpath via their fields to save walking on the road with our dogs, whilst my husband had the car visiting an air show at Cosford. There is a little road noise at times, but by no means intrusive, and the site is ideally placed to visit Much Wenlock, and the walks in the immediate area are extensive. All in all a lovely well maintained site and worth a visit.

A lovely site, lovely owners, peaceful and quiet!

Spent three nights at Coates Farm earlier this week. Arrived on Wednesday and the only one on the site. Had the choice of five pitches each with their own water tap and plenty of space. Gated entrance from the road, all grass pitches. Toilet located near to the farm buildings/house. Chemical disposal point within field - easy to use and very clean and tidy. Beautiful site, overlooking a field of sheep and other fields and countryside beyond. Some very slight road noise but nothing that distracts from what is a lovely place to visit. Ideally located for Much Wenlock, Ironbridge, Bridgnorth, Telford and even Shrewsbury. The owner Jenny leaves you to your own devices but is accessible for any needs or to pay. Had a lovely conversation all about her sheep the day we left and it is clear she is passionate about not only the farm but the well-kept site. Thank you for a lovely few days and we will definitely be back.

Nice CL

We stayed here for 5 nights over the Easter weekend. It was ideal for our needs, visiting friends and family in the local area.  Plenty of space between pitches and we really like the fact each pitch has it's own water tap. Jenny was friendly when we caught up with her to pay. We would definitely use again when visiting the area.

Wenlock edge

Welcome - helpful noticeboard showing where your pitch is.  Ours was raised up on a platform to make it level - perfect for motorhome.  Lovely location near Much Wenlock.  Can park in National Trust car park to walk along Wenlock Edge.  But parking in Much Wenlock is tricky - best time is evening, recommend George & Dragon - superb food, especially fidget pie. We had hoped to walk into Much Wenlock, but not really safe down road with no footpath.

Another Ideal CL

Firstly, the site is slightly further away from Much Wenlock than Google maps or the POI on my TomTom says. Check it on Street View first. The entrance is on the left as you approach from Much Wenlock. As others have said the owners are friendly and welcoming. The site is large, you aren't too close to your neighbours. We didn't use the on-site showers or toilets but they looked clean and well maintained. There are no facilities on site for separating recyclable rubbish. The site is within walking distance of Much Wenlock, but it is along a road with no footpath for much of the distance so it wouldn't be pleasant to do the walk at night.

Pleasant site

We have just returned from a week at Coates Farm, our 1st visit may I add.On arrival your name was on the notice board, which pitch you were on, thought that was a good idea. Jenny the owner was so very nice, and was only there if you needed any help.I would suggest leveling blocks are required. There is some noise from the lorries going to the depot across the road, but really no bother. If we come to this part of the country again will come to this site.

Weekend Break

Just back from a relaxing weekend at Coates Farm CL. Really enjoyed our stay, this really is our kind of site. Large grass pitches with ehu & your own water tap. All the pitches catch the sun all day, & the owner was happy for us to stay late on our last day. Will definitely be back.

Good site for a stop-over

We stopped at Coates Farm as a mid point on our way to Anglesey. It was a good site for this but probably wouldn't want to stop much longer. Facilities basic but functional. Welcome friendly and we were left alone which is ideal for us. Only negative was the proximity to the road which did have some noise and there is a fencing company with long hours of deliveries coming and going. As cold we were in the van most of the time so not a problem but if you were siting out may be annoying. Directions good , easy to find and access. Adjacent field for walking dogs welcome. Overall had a good stay

More reviews

Hello I am Jenny, the site owner, Thank you for taking the time to look up The Coates Farm CL. If you have stayed here please let others know about the site rather than them hearing it from me (I may be a bit biased!) If you are just looking give us a call/email we'd love for you to come and stay. We are pretty relaxed here, I tend to leave you to your own devices for exploring the lovely site and area. But if there is anything you need to know call at the farmhouse and we'll try and help. I work in the daytime at our other farm, so leave instructions for the site on the notice board, please check details when you arrive. I am usually about in the evenings for paying or any questions. We have a toilet on site which visitors find very useful when they arrive, just about to leave or during your stay. I have a selction of local tourist information in the room, if you are out and about and think others would be interested in places you visit please feel free to add to the information table. I look forward to hearing your comments on our site. My grandfather set the site up 33 years ago with the aim to keep him busy in his retirement from farming. He managed to run the site well into his 90's, I still have regular caravaners who have been coming for all these years, and still tell me stories about him - its great to try and keep his legacy going, and I hope you will keep returning for years to come. Thanks Jenny
