Just spent 2 days here on way back from Cornwall. Extremely quiet, the alpacas were great to see. Nice bit of room for the van for a nice price wouldnt hesitate in using again if going in that directon.
Peace and Quiet
This CL is so peaceful!! The owners couldn't be more friendly and welcoming. The area is very quiet , no traffic noise at all. Just the spot for rest and relaxation. The alpacas are beautiful and their wool is available to buy as well as ready made gloves and hats. We've been 3 times now and will be going back.
Peaceful
This is a lovely quiet site. Has basic facilities but in your own unit, it has everything one needs. We had peaceful nights sleep, no noise of traffic, the sound of birds and alpacas. I would definitely recommend. My only advice is to arrive from the dual carriageway side. We arrived from the other direction and found the entrance difficult to find and had to go right round again. If arriving from the same direction as us, look for Martinique's Farm on the right I think it's called, Cherwell is immediately next to it on the right as you look at it. The CC sign is set back in the drive so probably easier to see from the dual carriageway approach. Don't be put off by this, just a word of advice :)
We had a lovely relaxing stay and would return. Thank you

As good as we expected.
No problems finding the site. Just keep your eyes open & drive at a reasonable speed as you near destination. Owner welcoming and friendly. Answered our inane questions about alpacas with a smile! Numbered pitches most with some view. Beautifully cut grass. Toilet a bit basic but functional, but then we don't go to CLs expecting Caravan Club toilet blocks. Very peaceful with good walks from site and nearby. Will be going again - a real gem!
Difficult to find!
If you follow site instructions you will not see the site name or the CC logo, as they are behind the hedge. I did two detours and found the site after asking the owner to meet me in the road and my neighbour did three!
Please add this to the instructions, 'measure 0.5 miles from SP, you will see the very large modern barn on the top of the hill on rhs, then exactly 200 yds at the second entrance you will see a small house sign 'Martinique' be prepared for an immediate turn in here, sharing the entrance and just before that house.
Lovely site, slight slope, nice friendly owners.Peaceful.
A Lovely Break
We have just returned from a lovely few days away at Cherwell Farm. Graham and Kathy welcomed us on arrival and made sure we were OK, but after that were not at all intrusive. The site is very well maintaned, in a lovely quiet Paddock, screened on all sides. The Toilet is very basic but more than adequate and a big plus for any CL.
Electric hook up is excellent, well able to maintain a 2KW connection.
Dogs are welcomed, the only very slight drawback is that you have to walk them on leads to get to the nearest public footpath. However this is easily reached within 50yds of the site entrance, along a very quiet lane.
Access from the main road is via a single track lane, which is well maintained and very quiet, so the chance of meeting traffic is very small. Access to the site is good, we tow a twin axle 640 unit, with a LWB Landrover Defender (which do not have the best of turning circles!) and had absolutely no problems. If you like a very secluded site, then this is for you, however if you want one within walking distance of shops and a pub, forget it, the site is very isolated and all trips have to be made by car. But that is just what we want when we go away!
I would say that a normal 2 wheel drive car would have trouble getting on or off in the winter or when wet, the site is on a very slight slope to get out and being all grass, however Graham, does have a small tractor.
All in all highly recommended. Peter & Jo.
Different type of farm ;-)
A farm with Alpacas instead of cows! ;-) 106 of them when we stayed! You can wander down to the main fields to see them.
A fairly narrow approach road, wether coming from the East or West, for about 3/4 mile to the site entrance. Oblong field, fairly flat (well I managed to find a spot needing no levelling blocks) plenty of room, very usable toilet, nothing flash.
Main road to Salisbury and Blandford close by, but far enough away for there to be no noise from it.
Nice friendly owners
This was our second visit, and will be back again
Something different with alpacas
The small holding is an alpaca breading centre, which means you can stroll down the field where they are kept and talk with the animals. The owners are friendly, and more than happy to talk about the animals.
Reasonable sized field for the vans. Definitely needed the wedge to level the van though. Not unlevel, just not level.
