On arrival (August 2012) we had a little problem with the allocation of hardstanding for our motorhome, this however did not distract from our stay on the CL. There are 3 hard standing pitches but the field is quite steep/sloping near the upper end. Without the hard standing larger motorhomes could not use that area. That said, we moved lower down into an area between a caravan and a hardstanding pitch and this was acceptable though not ideal as the land did slope away and more levelling was required. The bonus however was this area maintained the sun for longer in the evenings. The other areas were shielded by trees. This area would in fact make an extra hardstanding pitch which the owners may wish to consider. We suggest that should you require hardstanding you obtain written confirmation not verbal to avoid any confusion. The owners are very nice people and were quite accommodating once the problem was resolved. We did not use the shower facilities but many did. The location of the CL is ideal for access to the local bay at Par Sands, which is suitable for small children. The Bay is in easy walking/cycling distance from the CL via a narrow lane. From the Bay you can walk the coastal path to Fowey, about 4 miles, this is definitely worth it. The local village shop, butchers and pub selling real ales are within easy walking distance. Should we visit this area again we would use this site without hesitation.
