Lovely traditional site

What a find. Super little traditional style certificated campsite. Good location for easy access to Fowey and all the surrounding area. Beaches closeby and lovely village with local shop and two pubs one of which is an easy stroll. One loo and shower with washing up facilities and chemical disposal behind the bungalow. Super friendly owners. Oh, and I didn’t spot one spider! Looking to forward to returning.

Enjoyable Stay

Beautiful views on approach to this site across the estuary , entrance down narrow right hand bend , but only for short distance . Nice welcome from Mary into a small curved field with 3 level pitches at the bottom and 2 more going up the slope , all of which are level once you get up the slight slope . Only 1 water tap in the field (between pitches 1 & 2 ) with elsan grid at back of bungalow where you'll also find toilet , sep shower and sep dishwash area and fridge/freezer . Could be little spidery but nothing to stop you cleaning up yourself , it only takes a sec !!! Local shops in Par (5 mins away) and superstores in St Austell (15 mins away) . Handily placed for Fowey , Mevagissey , St Austell , Eden Project , NT properties and loads of coves and beaches . At these prices , what's to complain about ?? Highly recommend .

Great site

Great little site, for 5 vans and very welcoming, had a wonderful two week stay, Other than a few nights there were 9 vans on site. This made it very cosy with guy robes, only being a couple of feet away, and able to here the conversation's of your neighbours .Not as peaceful as it could have been. Site was great for the money with the added bonus of loo and shower.

A great wee CL

Fantastic little CL which we had the pleasure of staying in for 5 nights with our 3 children (aged 6, 4 and 3). Pitches are levelled and on a lovely crescent shaped field. Mary, very welcoming and accommodating. Toilet and shower are a bonus albeit a little spidery! Also a pot wash and campers fridge/freezer. Easy access to many of south Cornwall attractions (Eden project a must). Will stay again if in the area.

Perfect!

Encouraged to try this little CL by past reviews and certainly not disappointed. We arrived very late but still received a warm welcome from owner Mary. It is exactly as described but nothing flash here (although the toilet and shower facilities are an unexpected bonus). As most CL's don't have a shower block I'm perhaps being picky, but this one is spider central - beware any arachnophobics out there. A little dusting each day and a lick of paint to spruce the place up would raise the game of this lovely little site even further.

Excellent all round!

Perfect site for my husband and myself. Quiet even when it was full. Excellent facilities for the price and helpful hosts. Less than 10 minutes from the Eden project and easy days out all round.

£7 a night water electric shower toilet good greeting on arrival narrow lanes in and tight drive if you had a big van we were fine site around cow and calf field so quiet you could hear autumn leave falling. We spent time kayaking and exploring to Fowey, Lost withal, St Winnow and Llwryn steeped in wildlife kingfishers, seal, heron, geese, swans, Comorants etc river steeped in history and lovely welcoming people, good walks SW coastpath, good hill cycling in village lanes, Nt near bye nice harbours and village shop and butchers. Fabulous Thank you for 4 lovely days.

As Near Perfect As I Wanted.

Finally I have found a CL which i want to return to, time and time again.  Alas its over 400km away.  The warmth of the welcome set the tone for a lovely 12 night stay on this super little site, set behind the owners bungalow on a good size plot of part sloping, well maintained grass.  The pitches on the upper part of the field are terraced with hard standing making levelling a non problem.  The views from these (and our) pitches is lovely, looking at distant hills or the delightful small herd of cows in the fenced off area in front of your pitch.  The advantage of these pitches is that we were well protected from a prevailing and at times strong southwesterly wind, by the high hedgerow.  We did lose sun in the evening though, but that is the advantage of the pitches lower down.  Facilities are basic but free.  The shower definitely did more than dribble.  We had full 4G on O2, but TV needed the bigger ariel.  Access was tight(ish) but just take care.  Definitely follow local directions and DO NOT follow Sat Nav. I will definitely be going back, as despite the wet weather, I had a most lovely time. Oh, the only tick dropped is for peace and tranquility.  The road is a bit of a rat run mornings and evenings, and the locals do have a tendency, to charge about, as they know the roads well. That said, it is NOT noisy at all for the vast majority of the time.  £7 inc electric, in low season (£1 for awning) or £8 in high season is an utter bargain and takes me back to when all CLs represented excellent value for money. I have recommended it to all my caravanning friends and family, and I have no hesitation in doing the same to the readers of this review.
