Cracking Easter

Have just spent a most enjoyable Easter break at Castle Hill. To begin, do follow the directions stated, the site is half a mile from the turn off the A49. The lanes are quiet with little traffic, there are a number of passing places and access to the site is good. We received a warm and friendly welcome from both Heather and Julian. The field is large enough to offer plenty of room for 5 vans and is pretty much level, you may need the odd chock but nothing major. Nice and quiet with a babbling brook/stream running along one side, a number of footpaths close to the site leading in all directions, pub within walking distance (The Pound) did not have a meal so can’t comment on food but had a nice pint. A little further afield The Bottle and Glass at Picklescott, good food, good service and a decent pint, say no more. All in all a most enjoyable break on a CL with excellent hosts and bucketfulls of rustic charm, this is why we tow.
