Ease of arrival/welcome

Best CL we've stayed on!

On arrival we were greeted by Grant who directed us to our pitch and also gave us an information pack. All pitches were well spaced, hard standing and facing the setting sun. The site was extremely clean and well kept - the lawns and flower borders well tended. The toilet and shower were always clean no matter when you used them. There was also a well stocked information room. Ideally located for visiting the many attractions in Stirling - Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle and Stirling Jail. We took a drive to Aberfoyle (Queen Elizabeth Forest Park) where I was talked into the 'Go Ape' experience (as advertised in the information room). This is a fantastic place, however I would recommend you book before you go as we had to wait until late afternoon before there was a slot. The park is lovely and well worth an explore - we found a waterfall, some hammocks and some 'mirror people'. Aberfoyle itself is beautiful and we spent a couple of hours browsing and called in for afternoon tea. A drive to Bridge of Allan is a must - this is a lovely small town with lots of eating places and small shops. There is a micro brewery too which is worth a visit if you like beer - there are plenty to sample and buy. The Falkirk Wheel is worth a visit - there's plenty there to keep young children entertained. We hope to return to this site.
