What's not to like?!
We often look at reviews but take them with a 'pinch of salt'..... Carnbrae has great reviews, can it honestly be that good? Is Andy the 'hostess with the mostess?'
Lyme Regis is quite wonderful, as is the surrounding area, we only live 70 miles away, so very easy for a short break, but also great for a lengthy stay, there is so much to see and do. We have stayed at a few Lyme sites, and not found one we really enjoyed, for one reason or another. If you have a camper/motorhome then bikes are a must; Ebikes, if like us, you are of pensionable age.... Obviously with a caravan, then brave the narrow lanes, they are not a problem. Locals are used to tractors etc, it's fine! Make sure you listen to Andy's directions.
So, Carnbrae. Easy access, large pea gravel pitches, water and electric on each. Lovely location, best we've stayed at for Lyme. So much to do in the local area. Nearest pub, The Talbot Arms, is homely and Sunday lunch is an excellent home cooked roast. Funnily enough they know Andy... who is such a fountain of local knowledge (actually knowledge in general!) and is on hand with any advice or help you need. Would we recommend Carnbrae? Absolutely. Lovely, peaceful site, and brilliant welcoming host!
