Could be so much better

Although the location is excellent for exploring the area which is well worth visiting the site itself was disappointing. Set in a walled garden the pitches are level and large enough but the surroundings are very neglected. The grass needed cutting and there were high nettles around the water taps and the chemical loo disposal. The feature in the centre was full of big weeds and could look so attractive with some colourful flowers or shrubs. The walls were unkempt and falling down in places. The site has so much potential that it is a shame it is so neglected. The owner said he would not take cheques and no receipt was offered for cash. We had to be off the site before noon on the day of departure unless we paid for another night. There was a bin provided for kitchen rubbish but no recycling bins or boxes. Instead a sign on the wall told clients to take their recyclables to a nearby pub or supermarket. As the site was £12 a night we felt that some of the amenities were sadly lacking and we had a strong feeling that money was the only thing the owner was really interested in.

Excellent walled private hardstanding CL with helpful owner

Set within easy access of Conwy and Llandudno this CL is well set out on chipped slate for hardstanding sheltered by high walls. I visited in February 2009 when there was snow on the ground but had no trouble arriving and setting up. I had forgotten my mains lead and the kind owner lent my theirs. A beautiful part of N Wales. Well worth a visit.
