Beautiful views but ……

Very easy to find just off the main road even the last 200 yds of single track lane isn’t a problem as it’s straight so you can see any oncoming traffic. Wide access into site through double 5 bar gates secured by chain and combination padlock. Views are great, mountains and sheep, very relaxing. Electric and water to each pitch is a treat (but not grey waste). Wi-Fi is excellent upload and download we’re great speeds. Communication with the owner was very efficient and easy. Unfortunately pitches are far from level and levelling chocks will be required, we were on the max of ours and it still wasn’t level! You will need rock pegs if erecting an awning. Pitches are deep but not particularly wide. With an 8ft wide van and an awning there wasn’t space for the car at the side so we put it at the front and it didn’t really fit very well. We were very disappointed with the general maintenance of the site, there was grass and weeds growing through the pitches, the grass was very long (at least 6ins with fully grown dock leaves) someone did turn up and cut about a third of the grass and then disappeared! The owner doesn’t live on site and it made the site feel uncared for .

Efficient and Functional CL

We spent four nights at this CL. It is easy to access and communication with the owner is very good. Aberystwyth, Borth and other places of interest are nearby. The description is accurate and the pub within walking distance serves good food. It is quite new so surrounding vegetation has not yet grown up and the layout of the pitches on a comparatively small site makes it feel somewhat formal. I prefer sites with a more remote setting but this is entirely a matter of taste; no doubt it suits some CC members perfectly.

Excellence

Easy booking, lovely, clean, well laid out site. Convenient for places of interest. Note hard standing so would advise rock pegs. Will return in future as handy for us to visit family.

Well set out CL

This is a really nicely set out site on hard standing and well marked out pitches including water. The waste area is nicely set up away from the pitches in the top corner, but as this is a small site everything is relatively close together. My only question would be around waste separation as it appeared some people were using everything as mixed recycling and this was not helped by labeling of the bins. Great access to roads and everywhere down the coast. Owner not on site, not a problem as everything was prepaid and worked - not all people are bothered about meeting owners and want to get on with their Hos, that suits us. We will definitely use again. Security locked gate is a bonus, not sure it would stop anybody who was determined to make off with your van, but made us feel better.

Good value site

We stayed here for a week in April in terrible weather. It's a good value site with electric hook up and hardstanding level site. The added bonus was the coded gate access which gives extra security. We didn't meet the owner, but her communication via email was good. It was quiet despite being fairly close to a main road. It's really handy for Aberystwyth with a park & ride just down the road if you didn't want to drive in.

Excellent site

Stayed here during storm Agnes and very glad we did. Lovely site with excellent hardstanding. WiFi, hookup and very good value at £18. Would stay again.

Great CL for one night stopover

Stayed one night travelling from north to south Wales and this CL was great for this. Quiet and facilities good. Didn’t get to meet the hosts but spoke to them on the phone for the security number of the gate. Pub & Chinese takeaway within walking distance and although we never used it there was a park and ride further down the road to Aberystwyth.

Lovely site

Great site, well maintained, water and EHU on hard standing pitches. Pub and cafe/craft centre 10 mins stroll from site. Secure coded main gate. Easy booking and payment by bacs. Cycle to Borth beach and Aberystwyth. Great area for walking dogs. Good to see a reasonable price with EHU. Well done you will be always be busy with these standards and prices.

Peaceful, well kept site

Very clean flat site with water and ehu on each pitch. No toilet or shower block. We stayed overnight to visit Aberystwyth, which was very easy with the bus stop less than 10 mins walk away and only 20 mins into the centre. Pub only a few mins walk away which did reasonable food. Would definitely return.

A good base for visiting the area

We stayed at Cae Ceiro for two weeks in June 2023. The site is very neat and tidy with good sized and level hardstandings and easy access to nearby roads. The site is fairly new, so the plants have yet to grow to screen the site and provide more shade. There is a road fairly nearby but the road noise wasn't too intrusive (there were road works when we were there but once this is finished it will be better). The location is ideal for visiting local places of interest. We loved the Osprey Project, RSPB Ynys Hir, Ynyslas beach & Nature Reserve and Bwlch Nant y Arian Forest Red kite feeding. We rode on the Vale of Rheidol and Tallylyn railways, walked Devils Bridge and Tregaron Bog and saw the sights in Aberystwyth where we watched the dolphins from the promenade. We went on a dolphin watching trip from New Quay and visited NT Llanerchaeron which was lovely. We were impressed by how many places in the area were disability friendly. We put up our bird feeder and saw so many birds including red kites, swallows, collared doves, tawny owl (heard), goldfinches, buzzards, Chaffinches, and a pair of Great spotted woodpeckers and their chick. There were alos lots of rabbits to keep us amused with their antics. Had a great time - thank you!
