Good one night stop over

We booked this site for its proximity to the M56 for a stopover on way to North Wales. We will return for longer next time so can explore Chester itself. Very easy to find and helpful owner who booked us in. Information point with the CDP and bins and a letterbox to post your fees in (very good idea we thought). Easy to find a level spot, plenty of room and metered electric good idea - we used ÂŁ1 for our overnighter. Just what a CL should be, will be better when the entrance drive to field has been finished, but Ok if you pick your route through the field.

Great place to stay

Just come back from 8 nights at this lovely site. Site is level with very well spaced pitches. It is a working farm so dogs only on a lead (not a problem for us). ÂŁ15 a night then your electric on top which is fair you need one or two pound coins. We seemed to use around ÂŁ2 a day. Depending where you park you either have a field behind you which when we were there had calves in it or the main barn for the farm. Access onto the site we were advised is being improved, not a problem for us but we could see it may get a little muddy where is is used by the site and the farm. Railway sleepers are due to be laid to improve this slight potential issue. Great area to explore. Bus to Chester is 5 mins walk away with service every 30 mins during the day. Chester is a really interesting city. Would also recommend the National Waterways Museum at Elsmere Port; we spend around 4 hours there learning about the area and the history of the canals . Port Sunlight is also under 30 mins drive and is free to walk around small charge for the museum (worth a visit first to understand the history of the town) and the art gallery which asks for a ÂŁ5 donation for entry. If designer shopping is your thing there is a vast out of town designer outlet village near Elsmere Port with free parking. The canal made for some good walks and finally visit Chester Zoo best zoo we have been to in the UK. Buy your tickets on line the day before to save money and the queues. There is a pub in the village where the locals will chat to you but the kitchen is closed until mid July for referb. Opposite the bus stop there is a Chinese takeaway others on the site used it but I cannot ent about the food but the prices seemed reasonable. Grey water was drained into the edge of the field. Black was taken to an undercover WC in the corner of the field. Asked for Green fluid only. Both water to clean waste and fresh water was also there. Weather could have been kinder but hay ho this is the UK!

Superb

We initially booked to stay for 4 nights and ended up extending our stay as it was so nice. Jenny was very helpful with the booking and information and is rightly proud of the magnificent nightly sunset, with advice so you dont miss it.. The site is a very large, well maintained field , very quiet and peaceful with metered 16 amp electric ( ÂŁ1 & ÂŁ2 coins). All pitches are very large and no regimented requirements with pitching position. Very good TV & Phone signal We visited Cheshire Oaks as well as several visits to Chester. We did walk all the way into Chester along the Cycleway ( approx 4 miles) as well as using the regular bus service to return . Other option is to get the bus at the end of the lane to Blacon, then join the cycleway and walk into or back from Chester from that point ., There is a Coop and a Chinese Take Away in the village as well as a Spar in Blacon. The site is not too far from the A55 and easy access making it ideal for overnight journey stops . Highly recommended CL and we will definitely return

Geocaching Trip

Stayed here longer than we booked for as it's so nice. Most of the time only us so only noise at night was the local owl. Bus into Chester every half hour and just a short walk to the bus stop. Great spot for us to ride our bikes from with many good flat bike tracks to ride on. Need more CL's like this with public transport close at hand for us motorhome's without a car. Hope to use again next year.

Lovely site

Lovely flat field overlooking cows grazing so easy to park up wherever you like. Really easy to find using What3words just off the motorway. We went to the Boat Museum ( fab restaurant and interactive tour using our apps.( note high vehicles will need to park in the coach bays as barrier over car park)and Chester and even explored some of the local footpaths. There is a great children’s play area and Chinese restaurant at the bottom of the road (5 min walk away).

A great Stopover.

We used this CL as a 2 night stopover on our way to Anglesey and it didn't disappoint in what we expected. Access was easy and straight off the M56 with no issues getting to the site, and obviously no issues getting onto the A55 when we left. We was greeted warmly and allowed to pitch where we wanted on a very flat and spacious field. Facilities were good the only thing missing was a wash down hose/tap for the chemical disposal. Other than that it had everything we needed for a short stay. It was a very peaceful and relaxing location and I would thoroughly recommend it certainly for a stopover to North Wales or even a longer stay.

A little gem

This new CL is a little gem. We would rather keep it as our little secret but it's too good not to write a review about it. Easy access, beautiful countryside, flat well mown grass, large and spacious, a real country feel. You get the best of both worlds, countryside, yes, but with a Co-op, children's play park, great Chester bus links and a Chinese takeaway all within a safe 5-10 minute walk from site. With Chester, Liverpool, Chester Zoo, beaches and North Wales all within a short drive it really has so much to offer for a week away. To top it all off we can't fault Jenny and her family. Great communication, lovely people, there whenever you need them but leave you to your own devices if you don't. This is our first time here, but one thing is for sure, we will be back.

Excellent site

Just spent three nights at Burton’s Acre CL. When booking Jenny was brilliant and gave us easy to follow directions to the site as the sat nav takes you to another farm. The site has good access and has really spacious grass pitches. Very well kept facilities. Great location with Chester only a 15 minute drive in one direction and other attractions like the Blue Planet Aquarium and the National Waterways Museum only a 15 minute drive in the other direction at Ellesmere Port. We spent three extremely comfortable and peaceful nights here. Would highly recommend this site.

A lovely lovely site

Have just returned from Burton's Acre having spent two nights there.... Jenny was wonderful from start to finish, very welcoming and helpful on the phone and greeted us on arrival We had the run of the field so we pitched up facing the lovely sunset, a great level spacious site, very peaceful and dead easy for Chester or Liverpool, We decided to go to Liverpool for the day and Jenny advised me to park at the local train station rather than drive into Liverpool...Perfect Had great fun watching the swallows darting across the fields and was treated to the fledglings sitting on the rope boundary this morning... If Jenny will have us then we will definitely return, A lovely lovely site, thank you both!!!!
