This site must have the best views of any CL. Add to that the peace and quiet and what is there not to like? Judith is an excellent, welcoming host and constantly works on the site to keep it looking lovely. We had never visited this area before but will definitely return. There is so much history and places of interest to see and everyone is so friendly. Our trip did include a couple of visits to The Steam Packet Inn at the Isle of Whithorn which served excellent pub food. Looking forward to visiting this area again.
Excellent CL
Excellent and peaceful site. Judith met us and explained where everything was and various points of interest.
As previous people have said the views are spectacular and the large garden area she is creating is lovely to walk round.
Spent 4 night here and could easily have stayed longer.
A warm welcome and spectacular views
We enjoyed two nights here last week. This is a well appointed site, beautifully looked after by the owner, Judith. The views from the site are spectacular, looking out to sea. Judith gave us a very warm welcome and was full of good advice on the local attractions. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for Judith as she helped us fix our awning, which broke during our stay. Definitely recommend this site as a base for exploring this part of Dumfries and Galloway.

Galloway at its best
What a beautiful CL in Scotland’s best-kept secret of Galloway. Judith is an outstanding host who is warm and friendly and made me feel most welcome during my four days with her. The views from the CL are superb in all directions across to the Galloway hills, across the Solway Firth to the Lake District, and even the Isle of Man. The facilities are immaculate and Judith is also establishing a beautiful wild flower garden and ponds which can be accessed from the CL. What a haven of peace and tranquility close to the lovely historic towns of Whithorn and Wigtown, and pretty seaside villages such as Garlieston and Isle of Whithorn. Judith has a wealth of knowledge about the local area and has created a very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere on the CL. A beautiful rural retreat to which I plan to return. Thank you Judith!
4 days of peace and quiet
We have just returned from spending 4 nights at Judith’s haven of peace. She has a wealth of knowledge of the area especially the gardens, particularly useful to us being keen visitors. We found her advice very helpful and her recommendations were spot on for all of the places we travelled to. The site is well placed for touring the area which we found beautiful and well worth visiting.
The facilities are clean and tidy and Judith is putting a lot of effort into landscaping the surroundings with water features that will attract wildlife. The views are amazing with rolling countryside, herds of cattle and flocks of sheep being the only signs of life. The sea is to be seen in the distance but is only a few minutes away and there are many small harbours and beaches close by.
Having only scratched the surface we will be back.
Peaceful & amazing views
Stayed here 3 nights. Loved this CL. Lovingly cared for & Judith very nice hospital.
Outstanding Location & Hospitality
We had a fantastic 7 night stay during the month August 2020. We were after a small quiet site with a view and Burgess Outon Farm did not disappoint. Lots of places to explore in the area with the site itself perfect for as a place to unwind
The facilities were clean and the site is very well kept, we shall most definitely be visiting Burgess Outon Farm again very soon.
Beautiful views
Just spent 2 nights on this peaceful, well kept site that has stunning views over the Solway and North to the Forest of Galloway hills.
A warm, friendly welcome from Mrs Noble who is knowledgeable about this area.
Wonderful coastline, interesting towns and harbours and very quiet roads.
Entertainment in the form of Olly the cat and cattle in the adjacent fields!

OUTSTANDING - superb views and terrific welcome
This CL is an AMAZING position. Pitch your van and look out to sea! Pitch the other way and look to those hills!
PEACE, TRANQUILITY - what more do you want?
Mrs Noble is a splendid host who makes you so VERY welcome on arrival and throughout your stay. She is happy to advise re good walks and places to visit. Or if you prefer she leaves you to enjoy the peace of the wonderful countryside.
Yes there is a minor issue with having to lift the wastewater container up a couple of feet to empty BUT if this is a problem to you then ask and Mrs Noble would allow you to empty in the hedges.
The area is very scenic and we had no difficulty finding places to go and see. We walked every day too. If you require shops (other than the basic food shops) this may not be the area for you!! Daily essentials (milk, bread etc) can be found in Whithorn. Petrol is available there too (at a premium)
The roads in the area are narrow but quite, very suitable for cyclists.
WALKING is somewhat of a challenge in Scotland as there are no footpaths marked on OS maps! It is said you can walk ANYWHERE! Don't believe it! Get advice from the friendly locals.
Places to eat can be found in Whithorn but try the Pheasant at Sorbie (about 5 miles) if thou fancy a superb italian meal at very reasonable cost.
Very good cafe at The Whithorn Centre and also at the Isle of Whithorn (St Ninian's Tearoom)
We hope to return.Highly recommended.
