Stayed 2 nights early Sept 22
Bungalow Farm is easy accessible, level pitches very welcoming owners. Great area for dogs, village very close, used as stopover to south coast wish we could have stayed longer.
Great CL
We love Bungalow Farm, good level stone pitches, easy access, few minutes walk to village for shop and a pub. Fenced in paddock which is great for dogs, plenty of walks from site which is a bonus. Owners very nice people, and of course the fishing at Chew Valley. Handy for many visits including Wells, Cheddar and Weston Super Mare. Sylvia Davies.
Motorhome 7.5m
First time staying here and we absolutely loved it. Easy access, 5 hardstanding pitches. We pitched at the far end and were the only ones on site for the 4 nights we stayed. Lovely scenery. Very quiet site. Easy access to footpaths from the site. Good sized area for walking our dog. Definitely recommend staying here.
Great CL
Just returned from 7nights at this CL. We really enjoyed it, good walks from the caravan without using the car which is a bonus. Lovely villages around with a good shop and a good choice of pubs for a meal. Many places to visit including Wells, Cheddar and Weston Super Mare. Fishing at Chew reservoir. Also C L is great for dogs, there is a walk on site around the field. Hope to return.
Great Weather
West Harptree is centred on the A368 and B3114 from which there is a bit of traffic noise. Much of the oblong site is covered in rough hardstanding with 6 occupied storage pitches at one end where it borders the B3114 and the 5 touring pitches on fingers of hardstanding along its long NNW border with a meadow and housing beyond. The narrowness of the pitches requires cars to park in-line with their van resulting in neighbouring vans being relatively close to each other, especially if their doors/awnings end up facing each other which happens. The SSE back of the site is screened from the owner’s business premises and home with a hedge/high trees where the vehicle entrance gate and other paraphernalia are located. The far end of the site is bordered by a public footpath with easy access to the village and its play area, well stocked SPAR shop, beauty salon and pub. On the recommendation of the owner we walked further to the Blue Bowl where we had a very good and reasonably priced meal. The quiet village of East Harptree is 15/20 minutes across fields in the other direction and has a community shop and pub. Chew Valley Lake cannot be accessed easily on foot but there are plenty of other walking routes to follow in peaceful and attractive countryside although some of the public footpaths can be a challenge to negotiate. The quiet country lanes provide cycling opportunity if a bit energetic on the hills.
Nestled in the heart of the mendips
This is our 3rd stay at the bungalow, friendly host with great pitch’s.
There are great walks from the back of the site which our dog loves, local shop & pubs with in a few minutes walk.
Can’t wait until our next visit😀
Shame about the Stored Caravans
Lovely part of the world it’s a shame we weren’t told about the five extra vans stored at the end of the site. The road is next to the site and we’re woken a few times by heavy traffic noise as early as 5.0clock in the morning.
Very nice site great location
This was our first site after Lockdown eased in April. Its a lovely site Lesley was there to welcome us and show us to our pitch she also provided us with all the local information we needed. The site has the real advantage of a footpath next to it, turn right its 250 metres to the village shop and Pub, turn left and you can walk about a mile to East Harptree and its old pub. Its worth taking a detour or go via Harptree Combe which is a 13.63-hectare Site of Special Scientific Interest. our 5 nights went much to quickly. Looking forward to going back soon
Excellent site, friendly owners, great location for the area.
Bungalow Farm is an excellent CL, with five hardstandings and all facilities really well organised and maintained. Lesley was there to welcome us when we arrived, and returned to give bank details for payment. The site itself is compact, but has a lovely grass field beyond the fence and another at the end, which is part of a footpath into the village, just a 5 minute walk, which also leads to the nearby village of East Harptree. West Harptree is on the Limestone Link footpath, which we walked a short section of, to Hinton Blewett, from where there are great views. The site is an ideal base for visiting the two lakes, Chew Valley and Blagdon, for Wells, Bath, Cheddar and Clevedon. For shopping supplies, we favoured Budgens in Bishop Sutton.

Lovely site
Easy access to the site. Very handy for the village shop. Good base to explore the Mendips, including Cheddar, Bath, Wells and the coast. Lesley and Chris very helpful too.
