Perfect peace!

Stayed for 2 nights and this has to be the best CL we've ever stayed at. Lovely views, so much space and no regimented pitches. Literally pick your spot and set up. Hardstanding area when needed, good walks with 2 route maps available. Amazing & we'll definitely be back. Thanks Jeremy, David

True peace & quiet

We've just returned from a long weekend at Bulley Farm. Easy to reach, last part of journey is down a "Devon" esque narrow lane but we luckily didn't meet anything although in places there are no passing areas. Can't comment on places of interest as we didn't venture out as looking for a total rest break. Perfect for our dog and all other van's had one or two dogs too so very pooch friendly with areas to walk them and also have them off lead at times. I will post one negative point though - come on fellow dog owners there is no excuse for not picking up your dog's waste - there is a specific dog waste bin in the waste area set up. It wasn't a huge issue but a couple of instances and it's not necessary. While talking rubbish, great re-cycling area with the bins with everything clearly labelled. Moving on.... lots of birds, squirrels and we saw a couple of beautiful dragon fly's during our stay. No road traffic noise, just the gentle hum of the farm traffic going about it's day. Really good traditional pub food at the Kings Head on way to Churham served good food and pleasant pub garden over looking paddocks (with road in between). Very quiet site, great to relax and take views in without any noise. No play area or anything to do so you can't help but simply relax and take in the true peace & quiet.

Tranquil and a delight

Don't come to this site if you want to line up your caravan alongside everyone else, and like to be 'cosy' with your neighbours, nor if you can't do without a toilet or shower! Come to this site if you love great views, utter peace and enough space to find your own corner. The site owner generously leaves extra connection leads for you to borrow. With our own 2 and one of his we were able to find our own delightful corner. We spent a week here and decided that in the 34 years we have been caravanning this CL is up there with the very best. No one chooses your pitch for you or makes you position it in a certain way. We only use CL sites that are more than an acre as we want the freedom to choose a quiet corner and enjoy a peaceful holiday. This site has it all, and it's not even expensive!! You can catch a bus nearby that takes you into Gloucester as well. Perfect!!

A little Gem

Booked this site at short notice as wanted a two night stop close to the M5 to break our journey from Devon to Lancashire. The reviews were good, and it really is a super little CL. Loads of space in an old orchard, although admittedly we were on our own, great for dogs lovely walking. Information and books etc in the "chalet". Didn't see the owner as its a busy working farm, just post your payment in a mail box. Handy for supermarkets etc. Shame we were only here for two nights. I am sure we will return one of the best CL's we have been on, the owner has really made an effort and it shows.

Perfect peace & doggy heaven.

Booked this site for 3 nights after reading earlier reviews, & were not disappointed. The access road from the A40 is narrow, but extremely quiet. The site is a large plum orchard, an idyllic peaceful setting, with lovely walks direct from the site, around the fields and adjoining woodlands, absolutely perfect for dog walking. The electric hook ups are all near the site entrance, but a plentiful supply of extension cables are provided. The information hut has detailed local walks as well as many leaflets for local attractions, & books & games. All in all a haven of peace & quiet, yet so handy for visiting Gloucester & the Forest of Dean.

More space than you can shake a stick at.

Its not that I'm antisocial or noisy, but I always look at the size of the CL to ensure that I'm not sharing a quarter of an acre with 4 other people. This is the largest CL on which I have stayed... and its fantastic. OK it gets a bit steep as you penetrate further into the orchard, but when I sit on my step playing the banjo, its comforting to know that it cannot be heard 200m away. Similarly, I cannot hear the TVs and dogs of my neighbours. The phone reception is good on O2.... sufficient to write and post this review. The 3 network struggles with data and calls, but can send and receive SMS. The ground underfoot is firm...even after a wet spring. Jeremy is a generous and amiable host and has additional hookup cables to borrow. Likewise bird-feeders. The rubbish area is clearly labelled for those of us who like to recycle. Is there a downside? Well the woodpeckers are a but noisy in the late afternoon and the owls tend to hoot a bit at night. If you have a long rig (mine is 13m) the swing in is best handled carefully...and the swing out VERY carefully. Other than this its absolutely delightful.

Ideal site?

We stayed on this site about 6 years ago and it has been improved beyond recognition! A lovely area with dog walks from the site. Peaceful and well kept. I think this could be classed as the ideal CL. A credit to the owners. The next time we want to visit our daughter, we will be back!
