What a gem!
We had a week here in May 2023, and loved the site and its location; it's well placed for enjoying the coastal scenery/walks and beaches, as well as the Preseli Hills and also local ancient woodlands (Pengelli, Pentre Ifan and Tycanol). Not to mention the large number of local prehistoric monuments and cairns, one of which is situated not far from the gate onto the moors from the site! We particularly enjoyed a walk along part of the ridge of the hills to visit the site of where the Stonehenge stones came from, being from Wiltshire. We didn't walk from the site though for this, although you can if you're keen - it adds on several miles. We also enjoyed morning and evening strolls across the moorland straight from the site, that's a real plus, and I enjoyed sitting with my chair and a cuppa the other side of the gate on the common ground and looking at the hills after our days out.
The site itself is peaceful, yes there is a bit of road noise, but it's not obtrusive, being surrounded by trees. We loved the birdsong, and could even hear Cuckoos in the trees behind us by the moor, that was a first! You also get a glimpse of the hills opposite the road above the trees from the pitches, which was nice. You will need ramps or levelling blocks as the pitches are on a bit of a slope (front to back), but having a water tap for each pitch was a bonus. It just meant our full sized air awning didn't go up well, but it's a small price to pay for such a lovely setting. Access to the site (arriving and leaving) is not a problem - just arrive from the Cardigan direction as everyone else has said (we have typical 7.2m van). There are several places where the approach road goes to single lane, but the visibility is good and it's really not a problem, just be aware if you've not been here before. The friendly welcome and local knowledge from Peter is great too. If you like peaceful sites with a variety of places to visit nearby - hills, moorland, coastal, beach and woodland, then this is the site for you, we would thoroughly recommend it. Will we be coming here again? Definitely, yes!
