Not what we booked

We booked this site because it was in 5 acres with views. When we arrived we found the CL was full and we were placed on a hard standing facing a hill with a chicken coup. Access road was narrow and the reverse onto our hard standing was steep and not easy. There was nowhere to sit outside on grass. Another caravan arrived later and they had to park on a corner and were unable to put up an awning. Again they had wanted to visit the CL site. Sheep, chickens and dogs were loose on the site and had not been mentioned in the description in the book. So if you don't like animals don't visit this site. Finally the tap by the chemical disposal was not working and when reported to the owner nothing was done. We had to lug a watering can down a steep path every time the toilet was emptied. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Two day stay.

Beautiful site set amongst trees. Owner very friendly and happy to help. We left halfway through the second day because the fishing was very poor and weather due to become stormy. We visit a lot of sites but never before have we been to one where there was so many dogs off leads. In fact I didnt see one on one!! All dogs seemed well behaved but not everyone likes dogs or is happy to be walking around with them off leads..

Beautiful location with superb views

Have just spent 4 nights at this site. It is in a lovely location off Cader Road, set in farmlands, with beautiful views. There are 75 acres here which we were encouraged to explore, including a lake for fishing. The area is our favourite, with many splendid walks. The site offers a natural rural environment, where chickens and sheep roam freely, yet is within easy reach of all amenities. The site has a shower and two toilets which are clean and adequate. However, if like us, you have a small van and prefer to use site showers and wc, then you should note that the facilities are shared with the rest of the site. This includes 5 permanent pitches, 5 other pitches, and a camping field, in addition to the 5 van site. For this reason, we would avoid in high season. Otherwise this is lovely place to stay and we will return.
