Wet One-Night Stopover

We stayed here for a night in our motorhome in May 2024. Having been pre-allocated pitch 1 in the booking e-mail, (although we had the place to ourselves). we parked up and walked the minute to the shop/café to pay our £25 cash. The friendly manager dealt with us efficiently, pointed out that if we looked out of the window, we'd see The Royal Scot train pass, then suggested we might like to stop for a drink in the café as it was absolutely hammering down outside! I can confirm that the coffee and cake are excellent. Yes, the site is close (no, very close!) to the railway line, and trains pass (fairly slowly) every 10 or 15 minutes, but this wasn't an issue for us. The toilet/shower is useful to have, but we didn't try out the shower so can't comment on its effectiveness. As it was very wet (and had been for several days), the grass around the pitches was saturated, so it was a bit of a paddle going to the tap. That's Scotland for you, however! It is down a long, single track drive, so caravanners towing a big unit would need to be aware, but it shouldn't be an issue. Overall, a fairly good CL, in a handy location close to the A9.
