Ideal site

We have just come back from a week at broadmeadow. On arrival we received a friendly welcome from Nicola, the owner, telling us about the local area and some of its attractions. Although the site backs on to a lane which is hidden by a tall hedge traffic noise is not a problem, the pitches are all level and spacious, there was no need to level our motorhome. The site is ideally placed to visit Bakewell and Chatsworth House and great as as center to walk from. We highly recommend this site and will return.

An ideal site

Stayed here for a week at the beginning of July and after negotiating the steep narrow approach road(as per CC book) we were met by Mark who made us very welcome and gave us lots of information of local events taking place and walks for taking our two dogs. We set up on one of the 4 flat hard standings and the electricity, water and waste facilities were all ideally located. The site is centrally placed for visits to Bakewell, Matlock, Dovedale and many other interesting places. This site is highly recommended and we will be returning soon. Thanks to Mark and Nicola.

Lovely farm site

Just spent a week here, this is a well kept site, mowed grass and hard standings for 4 vans also one grass pitch. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, with information on the local area. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Nice quiet site

Stayed on this site for a week, site is clean and tidy. Narrow lane leading to site which is rather bumpy not very well sign posted as we thought we had taken a wrong turn.  TV not good but managed 9 channels, phone no network if on 3. Very quiet site and spacious, plenty of walks great if you have dogs.  The owners were on holiday so we never met them, luckily water, waste etc was self explanatory. All in all a nice site would recommend for peace and quiet, board games are a great alternative to TV and internet.

A perfect CL

Have just spent six perfect nights on this wonderful little CL. I know we were blessed with some superb Easter weather but even so this was for us the perfect CL. Clean and tidy, no extras, just your tap, rubbish bin and emptying point. Remember you are next to a working farm so there is some working noise but this just serves to remind you of where you are. It's good to have the gravel roadway and pitches as I imagine after some rain the grass would get very soft. This also helps to make this a good all year round site. TV reception was fine with a digital aerial. Phone signal on EE ok but no 3G. You would never be short of things to do in this area with numerous walks, fantastic cycling on the Monsal, Tissington and High Peak trails. Shopping in Bakewell or Buxton as well as country houses to explore. You can walk or cycle directly from the site including into Youlgreave and Bakewell. The Farmyard Inn in Youlgreave serves good food but it's worth booking if you visit on a Friday or Saturday as they do get busy. Lovely views all around the site and if you pitch parallel to the hedge your awning faces south and you get sunshine nearly all the day. We would thoroughly recommend this little CL and hopefully will be able to return again one day. Just one  word of caution when turning from the B5056 onto the road signposted to Harthill there is a very a steep incline and the road surface is poor so great care and a low gear are needed! I was glad I didn't meet anything coming the other way.

September Sunshine.

Have just had a week on this CL. The site is excellent, a nice flat grassed area with hard standing for 4 vans and 1 on grass with views over the hills around. Phone & TV signals were both very good. We shall definitely be returning to stay again

Brilliant Little CL

I have used this site twice this year it is a brilliant little CL only a couple of miles out of Bakewell just of the A6. Follow the site directions only as a sat nav will take you down really narrow lanes. Watch for the turn off as it is very narrow, right on a corner up a narrow lane for around 300yds. or so but apart from that it is easy to find. The owner will greet you if she is around and is very helpful and friendly.TV reception is hit and miss due to the surrounding hills i had to put up an outside aerial but the peace and quiet makes up for it. Nice couple of pubs in the local village which do decent meals. All in all a good little site i will definately use again next year.

Gem

This is an excellent CL. Although the pitches are adjacent to a country lane this carried very little traffic whilst we were here over a weekend. When no traffic is passing on the lane then there is no background traffic noise which is very rare these days. Despite this we still had an excellent TV signal and a full signal from the O2 network. Plenty of footpaths within a few hundred metres of the site.
