This was our first visit to Northumberland and pleasantly surprised by how nice the area is. The CL is situated in a lovely setting easily found just off the road which has little traffic. Spacious feel to the site with services to each pitch.my partner met the owners who were pleasant and friendly.we did the walk up the road to the village run cafe which took about half an hour and treated ourselves to a tea and cake.The following day we cycled over to wooler which is a good ride on the back roads and tracks but needs to be done on a mountain bike my road bike only just coped with the large gravel parts but nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed it (watch out for the goose guarding the bridge over one of the fords). There are no pubs or shops within walking distance which is ok for us but may bother others. It’s certainly a place we will frequent next time we are in the area.
