Absolutely stunning CL site. For just £12 you get so much and I really don’t understand the complaints people have written about this beautiful place. This is a working farm estate but the motorhome pitches are situated enough of a distance away for there to be no interruptions. There is the odd dog walker or angler parking quite close by but that was never a problem at all The facilities available here beyond the peaceful scenic woodland spot you also get drinking water and black waste disposal too. There are numerous walks around the 4,000 acre estate, so is brilliant for dog owners and lovers of nature. They also charge a reasonable £14 for trout fishing in the river. I have been very impressed with our lovely 2 night stay and we will definitely be returning in the future. A very big thank you to the Brahan Estate from the Keoghs.
Brahan estate
Wonderful spot, reasonably level places to park, very peaceful and tranquil. Odd fisherman and dog walker go past but they didn’t disturb me. Bit confusing where the office was but a local pointed me in the right direction. Lots of wildlife around, saw a lovely red squirrel but missed the deer.
Only downside for me was that the chemical disposal point and water are near the office but down a slight banking which was not so great for me to use as my mobility is not good. Some steps, even cut into the bank and perhaps a handrail would really help. Otherwise it is a place I would recommend and visit again if I’m ever back in that area.

Love this place
We've stayed here many, many times and it suits us down to the ground. Informal, quiet and peaceful. Excellent dog walks through the managed woods and easy access to the main routes north of Inverness. Lovely views across the field next to the site and we almost always see some deer wandering past at some point. Yes, there are some fishermen using the track and the CDP is some distance away but there is now a water tap next to the gate at the top of the site and as long as you remember to stop and empty the loo on the way in or out it's not a problem. This time we really mucked them about changing our booking several times due to family illness - not a problem at all and once we finally got there had a great stop-over. Looking forward to the next one.
Peaceful stopover in picturesque location
Lovely location for quiet stopover. Site facilities are very basic and spread out no EHU available. There is a water service point near the site by the large gate, but this is not immediately obvious. Black waste disposal and waste recycling is too far away to walk, so you do need to drive back to Estate Office. There are lovely walks available on site as this is a working Estate. Had nice curry from Chilli Masala in Dingwall only 5 minute drive away. We have used this site on two occasions in 2021 and would happily recommend and use again.
IT WAS FABULOUS
I was a little sceptical after reading some of the negative reviews on here.
On arrival, a very friendly estate worker checked me in, I asked him about fresh water and waste and he told me exactly where it was and also pointed me in the direction of where the camping area was and told me to park where I wanted.
We were only stopping for one night and there was only one other motorhome stopping who turned up much later.
There was a long track with spaced out trees on one side and we were able to park in between these. The views across a field and mountains in the distance were stunning.
I have no idea why the occasional walker or fishermen driving by would cause anyone a problem, it wasn’t a problem for us and we found it all very peaceful and relaxing.
We had our bikes and went for a fabulous ride around the tracks and found a huge lake where there were a few fishermen in waders.
It was a beautiful stopover and to experience staying there for £10 for one night was worth every penny to me and I would not hesitate to return or recommend it.

Difficult to rate
We checked into the office on arrival amd were directed to park under trees alongside an estate road used by fishermen, estate workers and dog walkers but quiet and peaceful in the evening and at night. The four other outfits there were well spaced out.
No electric hookup but non expected but waste, disposal and water all situated in the office area rather than near the site.
The site managers offered no advice or information about the estate despite the references on the site page. There is good walking in the estate woods but sadly given the size of the area there is no designated area for dogs to run off lead.
The most basic site, expensive for what is provided
The best thing about the site are the views of fields and the many walks without driving away. The facilities are basic and inconveniently located (if you can find them) and the estate workers have better things to do than be bothered with dealing with campers. The charge of £10 per night is not merited. I have paid £11-£15 per night for excellent facilities including hookup and warm welcome on this tour, this CL was the worst value.
Dissappointing - Lack of information on arrival, Waste disposal hard to find, Lack of interest when problems raised. We would not go back although che
We were on a long road tour of Scotland and chose this site near Inverness because it sounded great and our expectations were high. When we arrived Sat Nav brought us down the most direct track to the site but as there were no visible signs until you were well committed down a narrow track we had to ring the office for directions.
he sight is long and thin with a track runing it's length. This track is quite well used by fishermen etc. The water tap is at one end of the site, so could be a long way if you are pitched at the far end. We could not find any foule waste disposal - we eventually tracking it down at the office several hundred yards away - too far to carry/roll a toilet waste container.
As there was nowhere to dispose of grey water we had no alternative but to use the ditch adjacent - Here we found some inconsiderate person had emptied thier toilet and dumped a load of cornflakes. I totally do not condone this lazyness but was very dissappointed at the reaction of the office. I would expect them to come and sort this sort of problem - they seemed uninterested if annoyed that it had happened.
None of the facilities mentioned in the listing above were mentioned when we arrived. They may not have been available because of Covid but it would have been nice to have been told.
The impression was that the CL was an inconvenience and survived on the back of it's impressive name! Cheap but no so cheerfull.
Basic but splendid
Excellent "away-from-it-all " stop-over on our tour of northern Scotland. Certainly value for money. Adjacent to a beautiful old garden and some fascinating walks of the old Estate and surrounding countryside.
