Handy stopover

We used this site as a one night stopover being not too far off the M1 and being in an attractive rural setting with the entrance to the vast Bradgate Park country park just a couple of minutes walk from the site. We received a text from Linda on the morning of our arrival with the code for unlocking the entrance gate and with specific instructions on where to pitch our motorhome because there had been a lot of rain and the ground was very wet. Unfortunately and entirely due to me misunderstanding Linda’s instructions, I tried to drive across the grass on entering the site to reach a hardstanding on the far side of the site but got completely stuck in the muddy grass. Notwithstanding my stupidity, Linda arranged for a tractor to come and pull me off the grass and we only had to wait about half an hour for the tractor to arrive so that was great service to get out of the predicament I had created for us. We then pitched our motorhome as Linda had originally told us which was on a hardstanding near the entrance gate which was in reach of both an electricity point and water tap. I was disappointed to discover that dogs have to be kept on leads everywhere in Bradgate Park but as we only stayed one night it did not bother us too much. I would recommend this site but preferably in drier conditions ! Also, make sure, unlike me, that you follow Linda’s instructions.
