We spent last night at Borrowmoss farm in our VW camper van.
Excellent, peaceful location. Stunning views.
Amenities as listed but what is not described is the warm welcome from Frank and Julie who went out of their way to make our stay so special.
They have created a wonderful haven for people on the road and have even greater plans for the future.
Well worth a visit. Rob
We spent 15 nights on this new CL in September 2024 and were delighted with everything about it. It's a peaceful place with great views and well placed for exploring this beautiful but under visited part of southern Scotland. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. A visit to view their livestock is encouraged and well worth the time on your break to see the cats, dogs, horses, chickens, ponies etc. The wildlife and birdlife you will see add to the experience immensely. We saw owls, red kite, buzzards, geese and even a murmuration of starlings. The site is situated off an single track road with passing places and you are only on this for less than a mile and we found access for our 8m twin axle caravan very easy. If you have non camping friends there is also a holiday cottage to let which sleeps 4 and is well appointed. Despite this site only opening in July 2024 it has a well established look with good hard standings and well maintained lawned areas serving each pitch. The best this thing is there are no extra costs for dogs or awnings etc- all this for £18 per night!. The electricity is metered so you only pay for what you use. I highly recommend you book soon as this site will become very popular. A huge thank you to Julie and Frank for making our stay so special and for their knowledge of the local area to help us decide what and where to visit in our all to limited time spent with them. Book early folks you won't regret it if you like peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings with congenial hosts and loads to see and do on your doorstep and so much more within easy driving distance on quiet roads. Thanks for the gooseberry chutney Julie it is delicious!
Spent one night at Borrowmoss, Frank was very helpful and welcoming. Very quiet site with toilets, ehu, water etc and an easy walk to Wigtown. Everything was just as it should be and we would happily book again.Thanks.
Just spent three nights at Borrmoss site. A warm welcome from site owner, Frank, who provided all site related information and top tips regarding local sightseeing. Site toilets were spotless, site is positioned in quiet countryside but is within easy reach (15 mins walk) of Wigtown which is a renowned book town. Easy to explore further afield, for example the nearby forests and hills. I highly recommend this site.
We had a last minute change of plan and booked by phone the day before. Frank was extremely helpful and the site was easy to find. Tranquil location but an easy walk into Wigtown with all it's attractions. A new site which seems well thought out. A gem which deserves to do well. Our thanks to Frank and Julie (the owners).
Spent 3 nights at Borrowmoss. I had the honour of being their first customer at this new CL.
Very peaceful location, and well placed for exploring the Wigtownshire area, and further beyond. The small town of Wigtown is 5 mins away by car, with it's booktown attractions to stroll round.
Fantastic welcome from Frank and Julie, including a guided tour to meet the various animal residents!!
All in all, a well laid out CL, in a lovely area, making this a must visit place, where a warm welcome is assured.
