Great location

Recently stayed at Blickling our third visit. Site is well located for easy walk into Holt. It’s a well maintained and picturesque site with friendly owners. Will definitely be back.

Good location, poor facilities

The site is a level, grassed field, an easy 5-minute walk into the village. As others have said, it could be an excellent site but needs more care and updating. • The entrance is not well marked. After passing the brick pillars topped with a concrete ball, there is a very small CMC sign. Turn left down the track just before a worn brick pillar. Then follow the rutted track down and turn left into the field behind the bungalow. • The facilities are not suitable for motorhomes, with no easy access to water fill or grey water disposal. We never did work out where to empty the toilet cassette. A shame, as it could be very nice; however not recommended for motorhomes.

Very relaxing CL

Very spacious site which appears to get many repeat visitors. It is walking distance of Holt. Holt has limited superrmarkets at present due to a fire but the butchers, bakers and greengrocers provide for most needs and there is an excellent deli-style store.

Disappointing management

The owners were aware that there were eight outfits staying, and offered no apology or reason for the over-booking, giving the impression that this was normal. The electricity supply was inadequate for the cold weather and tripped off several times throughout the day and night. Access to water and disposal of waste were poor, especially for motorhomes. The drive access has many potholes and shows no sign of repair. Poor access for larger motorhomes. With more interested owners, this could be an excellent site.

Excellent CL

Lovely well kept site.  Perfectly situated for a short walk into Holt.  Level, well drained site with plenty of room between pitches.   With reference to earlier review regarding the approach road to the site it could be that this was addressed as we found it perfectly acceptable ( in fact have driven on worse public roads !) Will definitely return.

A tired site

Really poor state of repair to the gravel drive - very large pothole at start followed by others holding water. EIGHT units on site one night, and SIX on another. Does the Management of the Caravan Club ever arrange to check the validity of the "Certified" part of "CL"?

What more do you want from a CL?

I know free wifi would be fine. A nice clean heated toilet block and shower room would be exceptional but really when you get down to it what most CC members want from their CL is a clean, tidy, well managed site which has room to spread, has the basic requirements necessary for their needs (whether that includes EHU or not) and is reasonably priced. This one run by a lovely couple, Mr. & Mrs.Cooper, ticks all my boxes. It does have EHU (but is not compulsory), has space a plenty, backs onto their own property but that doesn't impinge on the CL, has a bucolic scene that occasionally includes a visiting Barn Owl and Tawny Owl, has a high hedge that separates it from the neighbours, who at the time of writing are quiet and unobtrusive and is only 5 minutes walk into the lovely small Norfolk town of Holt, that has everything one could need for a caravan holiday.  The only problem with this CL is that it is continually busy. People just like the place (darn it). This week next year is already full!! The CL is a grass area, no hardstandings but is kept well mown and drains well. Extra cables are available (in the greenhouse) if your electric cable can't reach.  The only downside is the access road is a little potholed but it's not long and is manageable. In addition, please note that the owners are not "In your face " people but are very pleasant when you catch up with them. This like many other CL's that provide this standard of service is why I like the CC.

Very close to holt

If you want to be able to amble into Holt than this is the place for you! It's so close it is excellent value for money ( this area can be soooo expensive). When we visited there was only one other caravan; we have a motorhome and it wasn't noisy at all ( I noticed in another review that they experienced lots of coming & going). Basic but all that we needed.  I would recommend it.

Great CL close to Holt centre

We have just returned from a weekend stay. Fantastic site in the proximity of Holt, which makes walking in simple. Close to all major attractions/points of interest. Very nice owner, and good value no frills CL. Flat field with loads of space. Only watch out is the left turn in to the road that leads to the site from Holt High Street, which is a challenge at rush hour as you need to swing wide to get your van around the building on the left. Other than that access very easy.

Peaceful CL

Just returned from 2 lovely nights at this spacious, basic CL. The site is flat, open, with views over open countryside, including daily sightings of a beautiful barn owl. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It was nice to see the site being maintained with short grass, and trees trimmed. Despite recent wet weather the grass surface was no problem for our motorhome. It's an easy 5-10 minute walk into Holt, where there are lovely shops and cafes. For lovers of old vinyl records, visit the unusual post office! We'll be back.
