Fantastic views

The views from the site are fantastic, the pub is nice ,food is lovely but fairly expensive, as are the drinks. There is alot of noise from the road which doesn't really let up . This site also seems to allow more than 5 units on. The bins were also quite full. There is nowhere to walk the dog apart from around the small camping field, although someone told us to turn left and walk down road where there is somewhere to exercise them,if you didn't know this ,walking would be difficult . Overall a nice site for one night.

A wonderful find for a CL May Day weekend 2019

Well what can we say a fantastic little CL behind a pub. On arrival a staff member from the pub welcomed us onto the site even helping with the gate. The views from the site are absolutely amazing.Fresh water and elson point all within the field so not too far to walk for anything.Once set up it was over to the pub for a drink and a bite to eat .the staff where very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We are definitely going to use again..There is a bus stop right outside the pub with the most regular bus service I have ever seen. Highly recommended Paul N Kaz Derbyshire

Three night stay

Very easy to find, nice welcome, some pitches have a slope, but most of the field is ok, each pitch has it`s own rubbish bin, someone said about road noise but we found no problem. The views are fantastic. The pub food can be a bit dear, its good. There`s a bus stop right outside the site. All this for £6.00 a night what`s not to like? It`s one we`ll be returning to.

OK but ....

... remember this site is at a pub. During opening hours you may find loads of people about, even kids and dogs playing around the pitches. The road next door is quite busy and hence noisy at times. This site also has a habit of allowing more that 5 units at a time. Wi-Fi was not available when we visited as building work was underway. However there are amazing views from the site and the price reflects the inconveniences mentioned above.

Excellent

Having passed this CL site many times over the years when visiting family in Huddersfield we finally got to stay on it this last weekend, May Day Bank Holiday. We arrived Friday evening late and we were welcomed by friendly staff in the pub, where we enjoyed a couple of drinks. We ate in the pub on Saturday night with my family and the food is excellent as were the drinks selection too, the beer from Elland brewery went down very nicely. The site is lovely, especially the surrounding views. Well laid out pitches with a rubbish bin on each pitch. Drinking water tap and elsan point nearby. Gated and away from pub car park. Staff again were very welcoming and we highly recommend this lovely CL, we will definately be back.

Traditional value for money CL with fantastic views

I have stayed at this CL three times over the last 5 years because it is good value for money with a good pub on site that does great traditional pub food. Be aware that the dining is very popular with the locals so best to book a table. The CL is on very high ground hence the great views but it can be breezy at times. The owner is carrying out work to install electric hookups and a new water supply and when this is completed it will probably be even busier. Dogs are not allowed in the pub. There are no handy verges outside but if you turn left out of the entrance and walk 300 metres down the hill there is a pleasant exercise area where you can let your dog off on the left. There is a Co-Op and large Lidll supermarket about 5 mins drive away,

A perfect CL site

Stayed here for one night, 26/07/2016.  I was met with a friendly greeting and checked in.  The pitch was level and clearly marked out.  There was a fresh water tap easily accessible to top up my motorhome.  The waste water and chemical disposal are in the pub car park, at the rear of the toilets, and they too are easily to get to and, on my visit, available to park next to to drain my waste tank before leaving.  All in all it's what a CL site should be.  Easy to find, easy access, welcoming and had everything I needed and it was only 6 quid!  One point, there is no hook up, but personally I am more than happy not to have that so I haven't faulted them for it. The food in the pub is excellent too!

Stuck in the mud!

Beautiful place, but not suitable all year unless you have 4WD. Booked and paid for 4 nights in mid feb but only stayed  for 2, as the second morning we got stuck in the mud, and it took us an hour to get ourselves out, almost missing the wedding we were going to that day.

A special CL

This cl is what we all hope for when planning a visit. A warm welcome, A Fantastic view and all in the grounds of a great little pub. Shame it does not have any hook ups, but there again, if it did you would never be able to get a booking. Food is lovely and very fairly priced, its available all day up until 9 o'clock in the evening. A bus stop is right outside the door AND, can't help it, that view is sensational. Road can be a little noisy but the 360 degree views more than make up for it. You will not regret spending time here.

Fab site!

Great site with spectacular views. Site is simple with water and WD only, though situated on hilltop grounds with excellent pub. Run by lovely people and very friendly helpful pub staff. Pub food very impressive with extensive menu. Sunday lunch recommended though make sure you book. Bus stop right by site with easy access to Leeds, Dewsbury and Huddersfield. We came for 3 nights and stayed for a week - highly recommended! We'll definitely be back.
