May Break

We stayed here at the end of May. All facilities were clean and tidy, Husband loved the Elson point, (he needs to get out more!!) very well thought out and easy to use. Allan came round a few times to cut the grass and empty rubbish etc. and always had time for a friendly chat but not intrusive. As others have said the farm shop is excellent, lots of different things on offer and very friendly staff. Although there isn't a dog walk on site just a few hundred yards up the road there is a designated dog walk round a playing field, just big enough for the quick bedtime walk but plenty of footpaths if you want to go further afield. We cycled the lanes and ate in a couple of village pubs but gave the local one, a few hundred yards up the road a miss!! Lots of bats from the barn to sit and watch with a glass of wine, my idea of heaven.

Wonderful CL

We had a wonderful stay at Bide Yer CL, Site beautifully maintained, Elson Point best I've ever seen, owner very welcoming, lovely views, the farm shop near by makes a fabulous breakfast, all the area is wonderful to explore. had a fab stay and looking forward to our next visit. The only down side to our stay was a couple who had a dog, which was noisy, allowed it to bark, at first the woman kept it under control but seem to become complacent as the days went on, this was no fault of the CL owners, just inconsiderate dog owners. Would recommend CL.

after easter break

if you dont come from down this way Bide Yer translated into English it means stay here , and I am glad we did!, its a lovely new c.l. with pristine toilets, one of the best waste disposal places we have seen, we have just had six nights here , the views are as far as you want to look, the entrance is large and its a very easy site to find, large level hardstanding pitches with your own electric and water on tap,the owners are very helpful who live accross the padock, all in all a very nice c.l. and would use it again thanks to Gillian and Alan ,

Just what a great CL should be!

We have just stayed for 3 nights on this lovely CL. It was very easy to find, we had no problems with access in our 7.25m motorhome complete with smart car in tow. The signs were easy to spot and the directions easy to follow. The site provides everything a good CL needs, well marked, spacious and level hardstanding pitches with hookups, and water on every pitch is a great bonus as often getting close enough to water taps is a challenge in a motorhome. The views are lovely across open fields and as the site is south facing with no tall trees too close we had no trouble getting a satalite signal. O2 and 3 phone reception are also good. Both the WC and the chemical toilet emptying point are spacious and spotless and the Elsan point is particularly well designed for ease of use. The owners are nearby and friendly and welcoming. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site and we look forward to coming again soon.

Very nearly wonderful

Recently had a week here, and with the exception of a couple of niggles, it's a very good site. All decent pitches with hook-up and tap, but I can see it being a struggle to get a large oufit in, especially on the first pitch by the gate. Because the owner is not resident,(although he's a perfectly helpful chap when you do see him) the recycling crates were not emptied as often as they should have been, and were overflowing during our stay. The power supply to the whole site tripped out twice on one evening, fortunately, our neighbours knew where the main consumer box was. I still think it could be better signposted, but the view over the fields was lovely. All in all, pretty good, but could have been better.

A lovely, peaceful site

As first time caravaners this was an ideal, level, hardstanding site, with grass at side for awning & lovely outlook over fields. Each pitch had its own electric hook up & water which made showering, etc easy. Toilet on site was spotless. Would just suggest if arriving from the east, rather than drive through the busy Bridport high street, stay on the A35 to bypass Bridport, then come off onto the B3162 from the west.

Perfect Retreat but still close to amenities

A lovely peaceful site. All pitches hard standing with grass for awnings. Spotless toilet. No shower but every pitch had its own water supply so showering was never an issue. We didn't visit the nearest pub (2 minute walk) as it did not do food but on our stay we visited 2 great pubs (Ilchester Arms http://ilchesterarmssymondsbury.co.uk/#ad-image-0 ) where I had my first but not last taste of Palmers Gold!). The other was recommended by the site owner who was very friendly and helpful. That was the Spyway which was seemingly in the middle of nowhere but a full car park said it all http://www.spyway-inn.co.uk/ Site is 2 miles out of Bridport so close to all the local places of interest and we only scratched the surface in our 4 days. We will definitely visit again

Perfect.

Just arrived home after spending the weekend here. Only half an hour from home but such a perfect place to unwind.   Only thing that the site needs is a proper sign. The owner did say that they only opened in September, so maybe this is something that is in hand.
