Great location, close to Coniston centre and the lake, we stayed in June to go for a hike round Lake Coniston. When we arrived we were not sure what to do so I rang the doorbell on the house, got no reply so we just pitched up where we thought we should, the owner came out a short while later and said the doorbell doesn't work and we were fine pitching where we had chosen. The site was clean, there is no pot wash or hot water here, this is probably as the site is geared up for Motorhomes & Caravans (we were in a small camper and a folding camper) The shower was fine, 50p for 4 minutes, plenty of toilet roll in the toilets, but no hand towels or hand dryer. I would definitely stay again as it's in a great spot, they do not allow fire pits, we had one the first night and the owner politely asked us not to light it again as they were not allowed.
