A friendly and relaxing CL.

We found the Bayardo Farm site a well established, traditional Cl as near to the original concept as you get; a rural, tranquil site with a very warm welcome. The field is 1 acre so there is plenty of room for 5 vans/ motorhomes and an over provision of electric points means that no bunching occurs. The grass is kept short and whole site is very well maintained to a high standard. Our two border collies were welcome and a woodland track adjacent to the farm provides a handy dog walk. We were very taken by the tranquillity of the site and were impressed by the variety of wild animals and birds, the hares were our favourite. There are beautiful walks to be had direct from the CL with many more a short drive away. Within easy reach are Salisbury, Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock, Silbury Hill and other interesting places. The tariff for Bayardo is very reasonable and fair. With no additional fees for awnings, dogs etc. Would we recommend this site? Absolutely. We hope to see you there. :0)

Lovely site

This is a lovely CL. good informative welcome on arrival. Next to woodland, plenty of good walking. Plenty of hook-ups, and drainage points. Well kept.

Lovely CL

Welcoming owners, well kept site, very quiet, but only a few miles from Marlborough. As a previous reviewer said there is no mobile signal and you will need a satellite dish to have tv - we haven't and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Peace and quiet

We wanted somewhere quiet to work and walk, and this little CS was perfect. 1000 acres of spring woodland and perfect solitude to write in. We'll be back soon! We're in a motorhome, so fresh water and chemical waste facilities (and excellent recycling) are all we require. The site is next to a little-used road, so a quiet night's sleep is assured.

Our first CL, wonderful place!

Stayed here for 4 nights recently, our first time on a CL. Very welcoming and friendly people. We were the only ones on the CL so it was very peaceful. The walking over the hills and in the West Woods was excellent and the birdlife was abundant. Be aware that the pub in Lockeridge is closed on a Monday, we discovered this after a long hot walk! The pub in Manton is certainly worth the walk, probably the poshest pub I've ever been to but food excellent!

Perfect CL!

Having just returned from our first visit to Bayardo Farm ,we can't wait to return ! Mr & Mrs Bull are very welcoming ,the site is very spacious offering above all else plenty of peace and solitude ,the birdsong is glorious as are the miles &smiles of walking straight from the site which if like us you are dog owners is a real bonus ! No TV or mobile signal for us but that was an added bonus it added to the R&R .

a gem of a CL

So close to the main road out of Marlborough but so peaceful! A delightful site, clean and well managed with good facilities close to the pitches. A wealth of popular places to visit are so close - Avebury and its Henge, The West Kennet Long Barrow, Stonehenge and the Caen Hill locks at Devizes. as well as several good walks. Situated as it is close to the Ridgeway, there are so many wonderful views to find and white horses to track down. There was so much to do we'll have to come back. Albert and Shirley made us very welcome and we couldn't resist her home made preserves and free range eggs. If good TV reception is important to you, it might be good to invest in a portable satellite dish. we arrived on site and were able to pick up 65 TV channels. Someone else moved onto the field and cut or reception down to only 1, but we didn't come for TV... We will definitely be coming back, a tranquil spot for a long or short getaway! Thanks Bayardo!!!

I'd prefer not to share this one, as I might not get on next time

To be fair this could be seen as a basic site with electrics, on the edge of a very quiet country lane. It has very poor television reception, and it is there where the charm starts. If you want all mod cons and modern attractions etc, this is the wrong place. On the other hand if you are reading this, you're probably into CL's. This site and area has excellent walking. If you are unimaginative just go in the woods next door, but the downs are excellent. Walk on the Wansdyke for 5 miles and walk back on the escarpment on the edge of Pewsey vale. Visit Giants Grave, and don't miss the Ridgeway and the Sarson fields. The star attraction of course is that Avebury and it's monuments are 6 m away, (Don't miss West Kennet, you'd have to be very careless not to notice Silbury Hill). To add to this the Kennet and Avon canal is a couple of miles away, as is the nice little town of Marlborough. I could add that Mrs Bull is a very nice lady, but with the above, that's nothing but a cherry on the top. I believe the site is close to 35 years old, so they know what they are doing and that they have a Wiltshire gem. Just try it. Clive & Julie Williams

Would go again at the drop of a hat.

Beautiful place, fantastic welcome and very helpful. It is a working farm so expect some tractors and farm noise, but the forests and fields offer great walks, peace, tranquillity and beautiful scenery. I will go again anytime. The history around the area is breathe-taking with Avery stone circle within a few miles and other places of antiquity all around the place. For a great welcome and beautiful area, this site would be hard to match.
