Quiet Site, Very Friendly owners

Barn Farm is a lovely CL near Grantham. It has good electric hook up, and is set in a lovely area, with each grass pitch awarded plenty of space. The owners are a lovely couple, very friendly and helpful. There is an excellent village pub in Allington less than a mile away. The site is easily accessible from the A1 and A52.

Balmy days at Barn Farm

Recently visited for the first time, great welcome from the two lovely owners and their friendly spaniel. Excellently maintained, good walks with the dogs straight from the site, good centre for visiting nearby towns and places of interest, highly recommend the Welby Arms at Allington good food and atmosphere. We are returning next week, see you then Terry and Angela, get collecting those apples x

Just as it should be

Pulled off at this lovely Cl as a stopover en route to Norfolk from the North West. Easy access as described in the handbook. Met by very pleasant owners who gave us all the information we needed. Parked up on grass pitches with room to breathe from your neighbour. Pitches are level. The CL has an open agricultural outlook with horses in adjacent paddocks. The A52 and the A1 are both about 1 mile away and you can hear a slight drone of traffic noise but nothing to perturb you ( and I am easily perturbed). Access to Grantham and local attractions such as Belvoir Castle and Belton House is straightforward and there is a lane right outside the entrance where dogs can be exercised. We will use this CL again on our cross country trips.

Peace and Tranquility

We really enjoyed our visit and extended our stay to make 11 nights in total at this site. Approx 4 miles outside of Grantham it is situated well away from any noise, even the birds were late waker uppers. 16 Amps, DTV and Sky very good, Bus Stop in the village but only one bus a day approx 1 mile away. Walks available from the site and the Grantham Canal which is under renovation is truly lovely (Drive to the Dirty Duck Pub, park up and Grantham is approx 4 miles down the towpath). The nearby village is about a mile away and its shop sells the usual essentials and newspapers. The owners of the site are very friendly and nothing is a trouble for them. This site is well looked after and does not suffer from one of my pet hates – cut grass left on the site. All the grass is collected as it should be a sure sign of a caring owner. Highly recommended.

great welcome and very peaceful

Terry and his wife were so friendly and welcoming. Also knowlegeable about the local area and places of interest. We stayed for one night as we wished to visit Belton House the next day but would definitely return if in the area again. Our three dogs loved it as there is a walk through the wheat fields next to the farm. Very peaceful location too.

Wanted a quiet well maintained site and we found it here

We wanted a quiet cl to try our new awning out on , also one that was well maintained and level . We have definitely found our new local(ish) get away . Such a friendly welcome and an information sheet about the local area . Lovely and open with horse grazing fields and dog walk that isn't knee deep in mud or threacherous to walk is a big advantage . Lane access and faculties are spot on and there's plenty of room for you to spread of you need to All in all just what you need for £12 a night

After nearly 20 years touring we have found our perfect site.

I’ve never known another site where we received so much friendly attention and help as was provided by Terry and Angela. When we had a caravan problem Terry spent a great deal of time trying to resolve it for us, even going to Grantham to find a replacement part and then fitting it! And he even assisted our friends when they had trouble with their fridge. But even apart from that it is our ideal site – easy to find, easy access, level, well maintained, bus service within 1 mile, quiet and no pigeons. Add to this, there is good walking nearby, a selection of great National Trust and HHA properties and it’s only 4-5 miles from the nearest town (Grantham).

Perfect....

A nice warm welcome on arrival from Terry and Angela to their lovely CL, the pitches are level and spacious with amazing views of the surrounding countryside, if you are looking for a relaxing place for your holiday or short break this is it , it has a proper country pub about half a mile up the road.....

Ideal Stopover

We used this site as stopover as its not far from the A1. The site is well away from the road and adjacent to the owners home so it feels secure and is very peaceful. Easy access to and from the site even with our T/A and although it is 0.5 acre we still had room to maneuver on site. Pitches are marked out and as it is an open site there are views across the fields from all pitches. The owners welcomed us when we arrive and although we were there for one night, they gave us a sheet of the area which i thought was a nice touch.

Happy Caravanners

We booked onto this site which is within easy reach of the A1 for 4 nights but unfortunately had to leave a day early as the Met Office had issued a warning of unseasonal high gusty winds for the day we were due to travel to our next location so we cut our visit short be one day. When we first arrived on site we were given the warmest of welcomes, the owners explained where everything was located and also gave us a sheet they had prepared giving information on local pubs, supermarkets, places of interest etc. We found this really useful. The site has stabling and there are horses in he surrounding fields, although not next to the CL. This is a quiet site with lovely open views of the surrounding countryside and is an ideal place to watch the sun setting. There were some lovely sunsets whilst we were there. It is close to Grantham and the National Trust property at Belton House and Newark is not far away. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again before too long.
