Beautiful secluded site with a very warm welcome

Barff Farm Fenside provided an excellent place to stay - a peaceful haven which felt miles from anywhere although it was only a gentle stroll away from the vibrant village of Metheringham, which has plenty of places to eat and drink. The site is beautifully kept, with well drained level pitches and joy of joys a toilet/washroom with a very comfortable chair and a selection of books - I could have stayed in there for hours!! The site is also about 20 minutes from the atmospheric city of Lincoln with its many attractions, and from Woodhall Spa in the opposite direction with its magnificent golf course. Michelle could not have been a more welcoming host and offered some useful advice about what to do in the vicinity. I visited Barff Farm in October and will have fond memories of the autumn colours, wildlife including deer, hares and owls, and huge skies with great sunsets and an array of stars with little light pollution - and I look forward to another visit! A site not to be missed

A quiet and beautifully kept CL. Only downside is the long, dusty, rough approach but on arriving at the site the grass is neatly mown and the welcome warm. You are close to Lincoln and a visit here is a must to see the cathedral and mediaeval old town. Parking at the top of the hill, near the cathedral is limited but for blue badge holders you are allowed twice the time paid for. I only spent 2 nights here but hope to return to explore Lincoln further. Thank you Michelle and Gary for making us feel so comfortable.

Pretty site

Barff Farm is a very pretty site approached down a long drive so quiet and peaceful with no traffic noise. Level, beautifully mown and immaculately tidy. We received a warm welcome by Michelle and had our choice of pitches as we were the only ones, nice for us but the site is a good size with plenty of space for awnings etc. we only had 3 nights here as a stopover on our way home from Yorkshire so didn’t really have enough time to explore the area properly. Visiting Lincoln is easy by car, 4 hours free parking at a large Waitrose just outside Lincoln where you can then catch the bus into the city. Alternatively I believe you can catch a train from the village. Lincoln is a delightful city with a beautiful cathedral where even your dog is made welcome! We couldn’t visit the castle as we had our dog with us but they do have dog friendly days. There are numerous walks from the site but we only managed a couple of short ones purely to exercise doggie and encountered hares. I imagine springtime must be a very special time to visit if you enjoy bird life. I would not hesitate to return to this lovely site and highly recommend.

Great Site

We stayed at this fantastic site for two days at the beginning of July. Michelle the hostess was very welcoming and showed us around the site on our arrival. The site was very pretty and quiet, dog friendly, offering places to walk and was also within walking distance of the village. Will definitely go back.

Peace and Tranquility

We stayed here for a few days over the bank holiday weekend. This is one of the best kept sites we have ever been on it was beautifully kept and amazingly peaceful. Lovely to hear the birds singing and spotting the wildlife. We brought our bikes so we went out cycling from the site each day along the very quiet lanes. Looking forward to returning.

So Peacefull with fantastic Hosts

Our first time at this CL site and this part of Lincolnshire. Good welcome and offered two pitches to chose from. Our chosen pitch was perfect looking over the countryside. We enjoyed the peace and quite and beautiful walks with our dogs. Could not fault this site and thank Michelle and Gary for making it as comfortable as it is

What a gem!

Since getting our motorhome we've stayed at 24 sites in 3 countries, and this one is the prettiest and best maintained we have ever seen. We had a lovely welcome from Michel and Gary who made sure we had everything we needed. It's a CL site, so its small with basic facilities. The toilet room is rustic, but sweet and very clean. TV Reception is good, Internet access not so, but I managed with my phone. The setting is just beautiful, flat well maintained lawns, trees shrubs and flowers everywhere, and a wonderful, colourful bank on the stream, thanks to Shiela, Michelle's Mum who tends the gardens. It feels very rural with fantastic views, but the village is just down the road. Our dogs enjoyed the many walks on the local foot paths. We can't recommend it enough!

Beautiful quiet and peaceful location walks (hikes) from the site into lovely countryside. Nicely mowed reasonably flat pitches friendly and helpful welcoming. Unfortunately eateries/ watering establishments were closed in metheringham Wednesday afternoon. Walking boots backpack n refreshments to go needed.

Love Love Love It

I didn't want to leave a review as this site is so beautiful and such a quite, peaceful site. If you want peace and quite, watch the birds in and out the brook this is the place. You can park where you like and still have something to watch. They have a cute little shed that houses the loo. Michelle and her Mum where lovely and made us feel so welcome. The best part of the day was waking up early (about an hour after sunrise) and watching the 6 or 7 hares playing around our van. Just perfect. The walk to the village takes about 20mins from the end of the drive, but you can have a nice walk across the fields to get there. Sometimes the fighter jets go over during the day when they are practicing up the Humber, but nothing to make a fuss about. I wish this site was closer to home as we would be back next week. Thank You
