Needs some TLC

This site is handy for the motorway and we used it as a stopover on a long journey. It was not well maintained. We had booked but nobody was around so we just pitched up. The bins needed emptying and it took us a long time to find the chemical disposal point as it was not signposted and hidden away. There was an information hut which was mouldy inside and the chairs and leaflets were strewn across the floor. You have to walk across a field to get to the disposal point and information hut so wellies are essential unless very dry. We didn't find the WC in the farm building until the following day. We didn't use it so can't comment on that.

Beautiful

A great little site we stopped over on our way up to Scotland, beautiful scenery and so peaceful. Not far from the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. We loved it so much stopped off again on our way back

An absolute gem!

We stayed 3 nights during the hot spell beginning of September on one of the 3 burnside pitches. Sitting outside amongst the trees watching the stream and cattle beyond was just lovely. We saw herons, a kingfisher and a fox as well as plenty of other birds. We met and chatted with Gavin (senior) and he told us some of his experiences of farming the site for 87 years! Brilliant. There’s an Aldi and M&S food store 7mins drive away plus a couple of restaurants and takeaways. A lovely quiet CL and you can’t quite believe it’s only a 20min drive into the city. We’ll definitely be back.

Great cl

This is a great cl for visiting this area , so handy for motorway . 15 minutes to centre of Glasgow, 5 minutes for shops and a great dog walk just along the road . Very quiet site and lots of wildlife to be seen from caravan. The toilet empty area is the only negative, but it’s ok . Good value as well, owner very friendly, will use again soon .

Super CL so near to Glasgow

We stopped here for 5 nights in August 2022. The site is well maintained, the toilet clean, access very easy and pitches level, we had a lovely time there. Despite being very close to the motorway the trees and dip in the hill meant the noise was not obtrusive, you could also hear trains nearby but again not obtrusive. The area for the units was not huge but everyone was well enough spaced out, there is a large sloping field behind which was great for our children to run off steam. Our only negative was there was not much in the way of recycling. The site is very well located to local attractions - we took the train from Lenzie to Glasgow and explored the Transport Museum, Tall Ships and Botanical Gardens (all free). Falkirk, for the wheel, the Kelpies and the Helix are in very easy reach - we recommend a tour inside the Kelpies. Our children loved their day at Blair Drummond Safari Park which is 45 mins away. Would definitely visit again.

A wonderfully peaceful site

This site is a hidden gem. It is handy for the motorways yet incredibly peaceful. We only had time to stay 1 night but would have loved to stay longer. Pitches are gravel and flat with a lovely grassed area for children/dogs. It was £15 per night including EHU. There is a spotlessly clean toilet and a little information shed. We will definitely stay again.

Great little site.

Very convenient spot for breaking a journey when passing between Glasgow and Edinburgh, as it is less that 10 minutes off Motorway, yet really peaceful site overlooking farmland. Reasonably level, water convenient and chemical disposal 30 yards away. The owner was mowing the lawn on our arrival and we had a nice chat with him. Very good value for money, particularly in these inflated Covid times.

Lovely little site

We used this site as a stop point from travelling around Scotland and needed to refill water and empty toilet etc, this was a great little stopover. £15 pn with ehu, or £13 without, toilet assessable by the farm, bins and water near by and the eslan point across the grassed area. Lovely owners and a very peaceful relaxed break away for x1 night. Would recommend and would return

Lovely setting lovely owners

This is a lovely peaceful setting not far from my home but could be a million miles away. Very peaceful with the birds singing in the trees and the burn trickling alongside the site. The site itself is very well kept on a working farm and close to motorway connection but no road noise. The owner Gavin senior is a delightful man, as is his son Gavin junior. People like this restore your faith in humanity. £15 a night, good facilities and location overlooking the Campsie hills. I would say well worth it.

As rural as you can get between Glasgow and Edinburgh!

This is a great stopover for those wanting a base for the central belt and also for an overnight stop on way further north. This CL is well kept. All hard standing and level. Very easy access. It’s also very quiet for a working farm.
