This is a grand, peaceful CL located about 4 mls from the A30, & clearly signposted off the A3097, and about the same distance from the town of Okehampton. All pitches are hardstanding with 16 amp electricity, individual water connection and free Wi-Fi.....great value at £14 pn. Access to each pitch is from a slightly sloping shingle track. Levelling blocks may be required. In a separate building near the entrance are 2 toilets and shower (Additional charge). There is also a small paddock where one can let off one's dog for a short run around etc. Across from each pitch are picnic tables for caravanners to use with lovely views of Dartmoor in the distance, and if one is fortunate you might also see a lady training her sheepdogs in the field beyond. The area is good for cycling (The Tarka Trail and The Granite Way, with a link just down the road along the Pegasus Trial to the latter) and for walking both from the site and on Dartmoor. Oakhampton has a number of shops including the Co-op, Liddle and Waitrose supermarkets. There is also a new Holiday Let, The Gallery, which sleeps 2 people and allows pets, by the site entrance. There are quite a few N/T properties within easy driving distance, such as Castle Drogo and Lynford Gorge. This is definitely a site that we will return to when in the area.
