Little Gem

We booked this because it looked in a perfect place for us, and we were right, it was perfect, its easily accessible trough a large gate that has a combination Lock, there are 5 well placed pitches with nice views of the farmland and a couple of horses in the field, there is a toilet and basin, that has been recently fitted. a 20min walk along the river takes you into Upton upon Severn, which is a charming small town, with 6 pubs all nice, 4 of which are by the side of the river, we had a lovely meal in the Boathouse which I would recommend, also a 5min walk is the Blue Bell Pub which serves Indian and Nepalese meals which were very tasty, I will definitely be returning.

Just Perfect

Excellent CL. Sue the owner makes you feel very welcome but leaves you alone to enjoy the beautiful surroundings which is very much the vibe we like. Entry is through the gate for which you are given a code before arrival. Pitches are in a lovely little meadow and even though we have a heavier motorhome there was no issue with the grass, entering or leaving the field. We sat out in the evening with views across to the horses and the sunset which was lovely. Toilet available if needed. There is slight road noise but it didn’t bother us at all and it quietened down in the evenings. Nepalese pub nearby which we didn’t use. We walked along the river for about a mile into Upton Upon Severn and sampled lunch at Ye Olde Anchor which was great and it’s a really dog friendly pub! Lots of other places to eat and some with riverside terraces.

Perfect for relaxing and peaceful break

Just back from 3 nights on this very new site. My wife and I were greeted at the gate with a very friendly and relaxed welcome. During our stay Sue gave us some delicious home grown plums. The site itself is just off the road and has excellent access. The site is level with 5 well spaced out pitches. A very short walk up a gentle slope takes you to the Elsan point and shared toilet; both were spotlessly clean with soap and towel in the shared toilet. In the field, but behind an electric fence, were two horses which were no problem at all. The training apiary is two fields away and the only time we saw a bee was when we walked over to look at the hives. If a quiet break is what you want then this site is perfect. Yes, it is close to a road, but the road has a restriction for motor vehicles of access only and the roadside length of the site is tree lined. Traffic noise was absolutely minimal. Upton town centre is a few minutes away by car or just over a mile if you walk using the river path. When you allow for the time taken to find a parking spot in Upton it is probably quicker to walk. The very good site entrance is designed to give easy access when approaching from the junction with the A38 (by the Blue Bell Pub). Approaching from the opposite direction (from the A4104) would mean a difficult turn into the site for large motorhomes and caravans. The gate is padlocked (we were given the code when we booked), but there is also a button on the bottom of the padlock which needs to be pressed to open the padlock. It took us a few minutes to work this one out. Overall, an excellent site that we hope to return to.
