A warm welcome, reasonable price and beautifully rural. Parked alongside the barley, checked out by passing pheasant chicks, owl and harvest moon. Peace and quiet. Cawdor a stones throw, easy back route to Forres and beyond if going east. Easy access to and from south, Grantown. Findhorn a doddle. A tap and grey/toilet waste disposal at the far end and a clean/drinking tap in the middle. Waste at the farm entrance.
Basic and beautiful
A sunny spot between 2 golden fields, sheltered by big oak trees - idyllic! No frills, as we prefer. Easy access and well signed, pretty flat.Cycled to Nairn and Fort George - the latter is amazingly interesting, we spent all day there. We didn't see the owners but for the phone call to book she was helpful and pleasant. £6 in the honest box per night; I asked the price while phoning so I'm not sure about the notice on the box as I couldn't read it.
Tranquil Location near to Nairn
Quiet location, good tv reception, near to local facilities in the seaside town of Nairn. Pitches are located between mature trees in at the side of two large fields. Several pheasants roaming around site, we kept our dog secure. Facilities are very basic but functional. Only criticism is that you need a strong stomach when disposing of black waste. Honesty box in use for payment; we didn’t meet the owner until the third night. Stayed October 2021, would happily stay here again.
WYSIWYG
What you see is what you get.
A good pitch, a tap and a soak away.
What more do you need?
Oh yes I should also mention the stunning views, the peace and tranquility, the easy access, and the delightful owner.
One of our favourite sites. We stayed five nights and will visit again

A very basic site in pleasant surroundings.
We liked this site, but probably would avoid if it was wet as the grass could have been shorter and with a camper it could have been a bit of a problem. Access to the drinking water was a little overgrown and the toilet disposal was very basic! If you are unsteady on your legs be careful! Lots of young pheasants around morning and evening getting the harvest pickings.
The river Nairn footpath is nearby but to get on to it you need to walk on the road to the bridge (direction Nairn). We had a good meal in the Cawdor Inn.
Price quoted on the phone was £6 per night, on the honesty box £8! Did not see anybody to query this.
peacefully basic
Margaret is a wonderful host and very friendly. The site was perfect for us who were looking for a little peace and quiet, which we got. Amid the odd showers, had a great day in Findhorn and also went to visit Roseisle. fantastic spots to get away from life. Will be back for sure. Thank you Margaret, lovely to have had a wee chat.xxx

A great basic CL.
Spent 4 nights here. A simple, basic CL with water, chemical disposal, and bins at the end of the drive.
The lady who owns the site is very warm and welcoming. It's an honesty box for payment, but she does pop down in the evenings to welcome people.
The site is an undulating but well kept patch of ground with huge mature oak trees between some arable fields. When I was there, the harvest was in full swing but didn't impose at all, in fact it was quite interesting! Lots of room for 5 vans, and an informal system of picking the best, flattest bit of ground.
5 mins to Cawdor, a really nice village with the famous Castle and some great walking along the riverside. 2 mins to Howford Bridge with an excellent riverside walk into Nairn, or Cawdor. The stunning beaches of Nairn are around 10 mins away. Probably the best beaches in the north of Scotland.
I had a great break at this CL, and I will definitely be back.

Peaceful weekend break in November
What a lovely peaceful spot for a relaxing weekend. Although the weather was bad we had a lovely view and were warm and cosy on our first 'off-grid' experience. Allanaha is really well situated for sightseeing or just chilling and a visit from our host Margaret Lyle made our weekend. We will certainly return.
Don't tell the others
This is a basic, gas only, CL but is up there with the best for it's tranquility; the wildlife; the views not to mention is most charming host, Margaret.
During our 4 night stay we enjoyed seeing so much wildlife that it was far too easy just to stay at base all day. The pheasants, entertaining as always; a family of 3 young buzzards, warblers, deer, owls and lots more.
Brodie Castle is well worth a visit on your way to any of the beautiful coastal villages.
In nearby Nairn, you'll find a good Sainsbury's for fuel and food etc.
Just north on the A96 is the Caravan and Camping Club site (ooops!) if you need to replenish your gas supply. Also on the A96 is Highland Campervans who have a good accessory shop.
fantastic wildlife
We recently stayed on this site for two and a half weeks , Mrs. Lyle is the nicest person you could wish to meet , she pointed us in amazing directions for local site seeing places, the scenery, and wildlife on the site keeps your heart and camera clicking,, we will certainly be back again soon.
