A Little Oasis.
We'd never been to the Forest of Bowland before with the caravan, and what a lovely area it is and well worth a visit. It's often passed by for the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales.
As a previous review has said, some of the approach roads are a little narrow in a few places, but we got in and out (with a wider caravan) without any issues, just make sure you follow the directions given and not a sat-nav which is likely to take you via some totally inappropriate lanes.
The CL, which is almost like a "garden" is very secluded and has lovely views over the surrounding countryside. All pitches are hardstanding and although sloping, it's not difficult to level the outfit. The facilities are very accessible and kept nice and clean. Owners Vicki and Phil were most helpful and work very hard to keep the CL garden-like, and were very keen to make sure that we wanted for nothing. We enjoyed sitting at the provided picnic table soaking up the atmosphere on our final day (when the sunshine came out). A lovely CL run by lovely people!
Despite the weather being mixed, we had plenty to see and do in the area, and although we were there for ten days, barely scratched the surface of what there is to see. The Spread Eagle Inn at nearby Sawley serves lovely food and is in a pretty setting adjacent to the River Ribble.
I'm sure we'll return for more R&R!
