Ease of arrival/welcome

Excellent site with a warm welcome from the owner.

August 3rd 2020. So we arrived at this magnificent C.L., through the top gate and Howard had left our names on a list ready for us to pitch up. (there is another gate at the bottom of the field which most people seemed to drive out of) Just a word of warning a sat nav will probably take you to a left turn opposite Downhill Beach DO NOT go up this way to the camp site as it is extremely steep, lots of bends and not suitable certainly for caravans. Instead take a left turn just after Articlave and at the turning down to Castlerock on the right. There is a garden centre on the left, (where the lady owner is very helpful). You will see an old caravan club sign as you turn in left . The site has a wonderful view over farmland down to the coast. On a clear day you can see from Downhill to Portrush. During lock down Howard has been very busy and has now provided water not only round the edge of the site but for each pitch along with grey water waste disposal and 16 amp electric (this is either at the side of the field or at the top on the concrete road in. So all of this for a price (at time of writing) of just £15.00 - for a serviced pitch! Howard was great as we obviously didn't know about his upgraded pitches and he went out of his way to find a pipe that would connect up the grey waste. Thank you. The site is sloping but Howard has put in 3 hard standing full concrete pitches plus 2 with concrete bases for caravan wheels. If you have come without ramps or blocks then there are logs available around the site. There is a little road noise (certainly didn't disturb us) many of the cars were stopping at the viewpoint further up the road. Don't miss it as there are spectacular views across to Donegal and the Isle of Islay on the Scottish coast as well as the coast line from Milligans point right round the north coast. The site is well placed for the beaches of Downhill and Castlerock where you drive your car onto the beach (your responsibility though to be aware of the tides), national trust properties, and for touring the Causeway Costal Route and across into the Republic of Ireland.
