The easiest way to make touring cheaper

The easiest way to make touring cheaper is not to use CC Cub sites!  I haven't used one for over three years now, and use small commercial sites for out main Holidays (Absolute Max of £17 per night) but mainly CL's at about £12 per night usually including EHU..

Have just spent 7 Nights on a CL  in Suffolk, EHU,full service pitches for £12 per night (£84 total)  Beautiful site with no houses visible and grass well maintained !  So why pay double that and more for a CC Club site?

Good point Oneputt, but that might result in less people wanting to join the CC.

I am happy to withdraw my request if people want to go on arguing. The reason for my request TW and you will understand this, is that I was becoming concerned that it was a cause of friction between members.

I suppose the reaction to that request does in itself illustrate my thoughts. To have an opinion it would seem, is still not welcome on this forum.

actually it's more like if your opinion does not conform to mine it is not welcome TF, which I have to say you have done a little of that yourself?

words like meek for those that hold a different opinion to yourself? telling people what to do when booking?

Can you not accept that perhaps people are happy to use club sites and pay the prices?

Lugging a car load of stuff to pick up point. Trying to find a suitable hire point and advance payment to secure a booking IF available. Cancellation insurance. Wonder how that costs out for 120 nights?

Not suggesting that its the answer for all, just one option.

We rented for a number of years and usually for a couple of weeks a year.    The only thing we lugged in our car was our personal clothing and food, everything else was provided.

Just Google (other search engines available) 'touring caravan hire companies@ and you may be surprised how many companies you will find wink

Why do you think having an opinion is not welcome, TF? We all have opinions and are all entitled to state them. Yours is as valid as anyone else’s. Being a forum, we go on to debate the pros and cons of those opinions.

The mods will deal with any undue friction or breach of guidelines without us posters attempting to steer them. Think of it another way - if people really want to be part of argument or friction, they will do it regardless of whether it’s in this thread or any other.

12 nights away on two CLs, both with H/S and EHU second one with a very clean toilet. Both with easy access and good scenic views. Total site fees £153.

It's your money it's your choice. Does it really matter any more than that?

+ 1 but to some yes and if you don't do it their way...undecided

Which ones were they, John. We're always on the look out for Cl recommendations. We're on one at the moment with cracking views of hills & a loch, and the sun's shining too, what more can one ask for at £12 pn?

TW, - Corners. I give up!  You both know that I have never said that I am right and you are wrong, I merely tried to encourage debate on an issue that i believed was important to quite a few. But you have both sought to rubbish that effort and to be quite frank I'm tired of the effort.

Well done you have managed to stifle contrary thought to that of your own.
