I received a suggestion from a friend that SUGRU was an excellent repair product, so knowing how knowledgeable this friend is I ordered some.
It is a flexible self setting rubber that you mould into place around a broken or damaged item and it then sticks like something to a blanket!  So far I have used it to repair a bakelite knob on the riddler of my Rayburn and only a couple of days ago a broken bit of plastic in my compressor.

From what I have seen it will bond to almost anything, so for instance if you have a broken or split bit of tubing, as long as it is dry and very clean, you can mould this amazing stuff around it and hey presto achieve a repair.

The only down side is that it is quite expensive and it does have a relatively limited shelf life which can be extended significantly if you store it in the fridge.

I have done 2 repairs with it so far that would have cost many times over the original purchase price of the 8 pack sleeve and I still have 6 sachets left so I am more than pleased with SUGRU.

Well worth a try.
