SAFEFILL on the Isle Of Wight

Hi all. I am off to the IOW in a few days time and looking at the Safefill Map I noticed that there were no filling points on the island and so I rang NEIL at Safefill to find out more. It would appear that we do have facilities on the Island which was a boon to me as I would much rather fill when I get there, thereby saving weight.  As it happens, the one at East Cowes is so convenient, it isn't true- If you are coming on to the island by Red Funnel into East Cowes (which we are) then about a mile outside the Terminal is the first filling point:

Osborne Garage, York Avenue, East Cowes. PO32 6JT

The second being very convenient if travelling to the south of the Island.

Lake Spar Stores, Lamorby Road, Lake, PO36 9NG. This site is near to Sandown.

Please keep these addresses. I hope this helps.

Yes it's called Osborne Garage but it's in East Cowes- work that one out???

Write your comments here...   Osborne is in East Cowes. The garage is opposite the entrance to Osborne House. Not sure what your meaning.

You are so right. I hadn't realised that it was almost opposite the main entrance. That's why it's call Osborne Garage!!

Osborne is quite tight. Not a drive in and out for a caravan.

Write your comments here...I left the caravan on site and just took the car.
