National Trust (England) Joint Senior is only available for "persons over 60  who have been members for at least 5 of the last 10 years". Consequently most couples over 60 would have to join as ordinary Joint Members

National Trust (Scotland) however the only criteria is that one of you is over 60

The difference in cost is quite staggering. Both Trusts have introductory offers for the first year by direct debit

First year the costs are  NTE £69,  NTS £44.65

This then reverts to   NTE  92,    NTS £59.50

Both Trusts have reciprocal agreements where all properties are open to both lots of members. The only slight downside is that you will be sent the "wrong" handbook. The "correct" handbook is available on Ebay for approx £3.00
