Posted on 07/05/2018 07:28 by richardandrosI used Kwik Fit mobile fitting service to put a new set of tyres on my wife's car, last year and the fitter said they also do caravan tyres. Whole job didn't take much longer than 30 minutes and everything was recorded on video/ audio - including him getting me to watch him apply the correct torque settings. Was most impressed by the whole experience and will certainly use them when the van tyres are ready for changing.

Posted on 07/05/2018 15:35 by EmilysDadI'd be reluctant to let most Kwikfit fitters put air in my tyres .... in fact that goes for most High St tyre places. They've either broke my locking wheel nut/bolt remover or tightened bolts that much I cant undo them.

Well, in defence of this particular guy - I have to say, having watched him do the whole job, I thought he was very professional. He was telling me about the fact that he has to have his torque wrench calibrated (I think), twice a year and if the calibration certificate was out of date, he wasn't allowed to work. He was very careful to make sure that all the critical bits of the operation were recorded on the camera mounted just inside his van - and also the bit were he pointed out to me - from the chart mounted inside the van wall, what the correct torque settings should be for that particular car. That gave me peace of mind that there was a degree of quality control far in excess of what I had experienced before.
