Insurance-Towbar-Modification?-is their a charge?

I have researched this ongoing question about Insurers charging as much as £80 extra for a towbar as it is classed as a modification.

Good news!

The C.C. doesn't class the towbar as a modification, nor does it charge any extra. Whereas, Churchill require notification of a towbar, but again, does not charge.

Conclusion, tell your insurance company if you have a towbar to ensure a secure policy, and if they charge, find another company.
